This is my first Eel River brew. I decided to start with their lightest offering, than work my way up. Lets see what they can do with a Fruit Beer.
A: Pours a hazy, straw yellow. Head is bright white, and rather minimal. No lacing. Carbonation is pretty tame.
S/T: There is some definite berry on the nose. Mostly raspberry with a touch of blackberry. A little tart. Taste is also berry forward. Lots of raspberry with a definite wheat presence. A little sourness in the finish. Thats about it. I have had better fruit beers, and I have definetly had worse. Not that bad.
M/D: I don't know why, but I am finding this very drinkable and refreshing. Maybe its because I haven't had a fruit beer in like five months. Its a nice change of pace from the full-bodied Stouts I have been drinking lately. Very light bodied and crisp. I could easily chug one of these down.
Overall, not a bad first impression from Eel River. I am not a fan of the style, but this is still pretty decent. Very drinkable and refreshing along with a decent fruity flavor that doesn't seem overly artificial.

Pours a hazy gold with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and subdued berry aromas. Taste is much the same with watery grain and slightly tart berry flavors on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer that is fairly drinkable but it's quite watery and bland all around.
