Auburn Alehouse has been around for a few years now. I remember visiting when they first opened and it seems that the quality of the brews has been kicked up a notch.

Long bar and a separate sort of area for the tables in the restaurant. It always seems to be pretty crowded when I'm here, probably because I usually stop in on weekend afternoons and evenings. The bar is nice, lots of various growlers from many different brewpubs to look at behind the bar, along with a couple TVs to watch games. The interior is pretty nice all the way around, and there's a little deck out in the back and to the side as well. Lots of wood and the brewing area is kind of hidden in back along the walk back to the restrooms.

Beer has been getting better and, in particular, their hoppy offerings (Gold Digger, Fool's Gold, PU 240) have been improving in quality and in selection as well. I usually try to order something new every time I'm here if they have new beers on tap, and often they do. Otherwise, the hoppier beers are their go to beers, at least for me.

Service has always been just fine, competent and relatively quick. No complaints whatsoever.

Right off the freeway (I-80) and definitely recommended if you're driving between Tahoe and Sacramento, or vice versa. Growlers available as well. Very solid spot.

Fun little brewpub in Old Auburn. Very nice atmosphere and great selection of their own brews. I got a sampler flight of everything they had on draft, was an amazing value and i got to try 10 of their brews. I had an appetizer from them, some sweet potato fries which were great, wish I had some food from them. Ive heard goods things about their food and all the stuff I saw looked great. They cater to the craft beer crowd with cask nights and beer club thats gets rewards. I would recommend getting a reservation if your going on the weekend because it can be very busy. Overall, great place to stop by, eat, and a grab a beer.

Around 10 beers on tap, all very hoppy. Make reservations if you plan on eating there at dinner time we had a 45 minute wait, but that gives you time to hit the bar socialize with the other patrons. Very good beer, but expect some hops.

I had the Black and Bleu burger and fries, which was outstanding. My wife had a salad and an order of seasoned sweet potato fries that I could those every day.

Right off I-80, don't miss out!

Great location in the heart of Auburn Old Town. Inside a cramped dining area and narrow bar, but it works. There's a more spacious patio area outside though. With my group of four we had about seven different beers of theirs, all of them great to excellent. The service was good with a knowledgeable and timely server. The food and beer selection was about average for a brewpub. On the food side all the servings were large. I had the Ruben, which was huge and delicious. My friends had the andouille, fish and chips and a salad. Everyone agreed that the food was good but not worth the higher prices. The beer was priced reasonable at around $4-6 pint.

My friends and I stopped by on the way back from Tahoe. Took awhile for us to find it since apparently there's a downtown and old town Auburn, and this brewpub is in old town. Inside the restaurant is quite nice, wood & brick combination on the wall with tanks in the back. Well designed posters of the different beer logos are everywhere. I had the IPA and the independence day ale while my friends got the imperial IPA and the pale ale. The beers range from average to good. The food was fantastic though. The fries are supposedly beer battered but what makes them great is that I taste garlic powder in it. They also have the option to upgrade to sweet potato fries for only a $1. Price-wise is about average for a brewpub. Not bad at all, I would definitely visit this place again.

A mix of touristy people and locals, has all the usual motifs in a microbrewpub, wood, metal tanks etc. . . there usually is a long wait despite tables visibly open and nobody claiming alleged reservations. Seems to be an issue with understaffing from the naked eye.

A good mix of the hoppy beers, their rye was about as underwhelming as anything I've ever had. Don't really see a lot of unique type brews here. Mostly stuff for the masses, very few one offs. Don't miss the gold digger or pu240 if you're a hophead, its their best stuff. Food was decent enough bar food, maybe better than average. Parking sucks around this place.

A neat place to stop in if you're traveling up I-80, I'd recommend waiting until you hit Truckee and check out FiftyFifty, but this place is definitely worth stopping by and checking out at least once if you're in the area.

A new brewpub located in Old Town Auburn. The interior of it is very nice. Lots of brick and high ceilings. They have 8-10 or so of their own beers on-tap along with 4 guest taps. I had the IPA, my Dad had the brown. They were both very good. We did not have any food but it looked good and is a typical brew-pub menu. They do growlers to go as well as kegs. They recently bottled 250 cases of their DIPA so look for this in your better beer shops. I highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Auburn of passing through on the way to Tahoe.
