750 mL corked bottle poured into a Duvel tulip glass

2010 Batch

This completes a little experiment I've conducted over the last 4 years. I acquired this brew late in 2010 in a trade from Manoftyr (haven't heard from you in awhile, still around?). I didn't cellar it, I've actually kept it cold in my fridge this whole time. We'll see how this goes.

A: Straw-yellow with an orange hue, the foamy head quickly dissipates, but a thin layer of head never fully recedes.

S: Nice citrusy bouquet. Notes of grassy funk and honey bounce off an oaky backdrop. Booze is well masked.

T: Lemongrass and funk at the front of the palate. Notes of of buttery oak carry through mid-sip, with hints of honeyed biscuits. Aging has rounded the flavor profile, it's completely singular on the palate. The floral tones from the rose water and flowers have a light but distinct layer on the palate, complimenting the funky notes. Finishes long and sweet and kind of caramelly.

M: Rich and oily slick on the palate.

I'm almost shocked at how well this has held up. The flavors have sweetened and condensed, but distinct notes can be parsed. A really tasty saison.

this ones really strong on the aroma. the aromas are really like a garden of many different flowers, some sage. its really really floral, a bit herbal. the taste is a bit less intense thank fully, but its still hard to swallow. not sure about this one, for me anyway

"...ale with a variety of flowers, including L. augustifolia, A. nobilis, C. officinallis and a generous amount of H. lupulus." After some googling that equals lavendar, yarrow, dandelion and hops.

Gold with a lumpy blanket of white foam on top. Clear to cloudy depending on first or last pour.

Smells like green bananas and must. Tastes very spicy with a burnt agave nectar sweetness which is really, really nasty.

This was a drainpour.
