Thanks PEBKAC for the opportunity.
There is a best by date, 8/20... the rest has been rubbed off by handling and transit.

Pours a slightly hazy and lightly orange gold. A moderate pour pulls forth a strong frothy white head with falls leisurely into mounds. A torrent of bubbles continues to rise from the bottom of the glass.

Aroma has a sharp tart edge, lemon, a fruity tropical background with a large musty, farmhouse, character. Very enticing.

Taste starts with light sweetness. It's more bready than its counterparts but in an understated, tasty way. The tart note is less apparent than in the nose, light, just enough to add a nice brightness to the flavor. Spice comes stronger in the flavor than the aroma. A farmhouse character is present through most of the sip. Sturdy, but plays well with everything else. It shares the finish with a moderate bitterness. The fruit picks up and the tart steps back as the brew warms to room temp.

Just a smidge heavy to be called light bodied, it's refreshing, pleasantly dry and fortifying. Carbonation is active in the glass but a bit softer in the mouth.

This is a tasty saison. Definitely in the running for #1. There's many slight variations that set it apart and add to its allure. The breadiness, and the prominent spice character that I think is yeast derived (though WTF do I know?). It has convinced me, a saison octagon is in my future.

Poured into a chalice from 750
A- pours a golden, translucent color with an enormous white bubbly head that dissipates before a couple blinks. Nice looking beer.
S- Belgian farmhouse yeast, white grapes, a hint of citrus, maybe orange zest. Some bready yeast flavor as well with light floral hoppiness.
T- the white grape is persistent, followed by a little peppery spice and some pear. A nice amount of earth, barnyard funk (Maybe Brett) and a grassy note as well.
M- this beer is super-carbed. Mouthfeel is medium with a snappy finish. Alcohol is hidden well, so be careful.
O- this is a fantastic saison that I'm glad I picked up. Will seek out again.

A: Pours a hazy medium yellow in color with heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising pretty quickly from the bottom of the glass as well as some straw yellow + golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three to four finger tall dense foamy off-white head that very slowly reduces to a half finger thick layer covering the entire surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of pale malts, spices, lemon citrus, and floral hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of pale malts with slightly stronger flavors of lemon citrus and spicy yeast. There is a light to moderate flavor of floral hops that impart a light amount of bitterness in the finish which lingers slightly.

M: Light to medium bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation. Crisp, almost prickly upfront and finishes smooth. Hints of dryness.

O: A very nice saison but one that feels a little bigger than some of the others - alcohol is hidden but slightly present just under the surface which makes it more of a sipping saison than a truly refreshing one. Definitely worth grabbing.

Bottle purchased at the Foodery, Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. Best by date 11/13/14.

Hazy golden body, crowned with a creamy foam head. Very good head retention and lacing, eventually dissipates to a cap and ring.

Very pleasant aroma of light malt, green grassy hops, some tropical fruit notes, brett, and spice.

A very fine tasting saison, with bready malt, lemon and tropical fruit, and interesting yeast flavor, with a strong element of brettanomyces yeast with flavors of band-aid and a little copper penny. It is strongly hopped with notes of green grassy hops that linger in the long finish, and turns progressively bitter, finishing up like orange rind. There is a lot going on in this beer that is hard to describe, but it is definitely complex, interesting, very well balanced, and tasty.

Body is medium and the carbonation is moderate, giving this a slightly creamy mouthfeel.

A saison that is defined by a good yeast strain(s) that is interesting, complex, hoppy, and well balanced. Love getting all this flavor in a brew that is 7.5% ABV--could drink loads of this stuff, but this was my last bottle.
