750 ml corked and caged bottle, courtesy of hopdog, enjoyed in a Duvel tulip glass. Pours a hazy hue, the color of ripe banana skins. Body is animated with small carbonation bubblies. Hefty vanilla white head rises tall and stays at a lofty peak. Eventually, the head diminishes into pits, rocks, and meringue. Lacing is of the island chain and satin bedsheet variety. Impressive!
Aroma is pastoral. Coriander, white pepper, citrusy lemon, and idyllic notes of sheep pastures. Grassy and earthy hop and yeast characteristics evoke thoughts of spring mountains teeming with freshly shorn sheep. Lovely!
Mouthfeel reveals a medium body respendent with a spritzy and velvety carbonation. Herbal feel is duly noted.
Taste is characterized by a dry and herbal bitterness, enlivened by a zesty lemony citrus. White pepper and a mild coriander and mint add depth. Hints of orangezest and tangerine really make this one special. Some dirty sheep notes of sunbaked dung and freshly shorn wool provide an appropriate finish.
Wow! Best American Saisson I've encountered. This masterpiece rivals the finer examples from Belgium. What a treat! I need to shear some sheep.

Bottle purchased at the Foodery, Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. Best by date 11/13/14.
Hazy golden body, crowned with a creamy foam head. Very good head retention and lacing, eventually dissipates to a cap and ring.
Very pleasant aroma of light malt, green grassy hops, some tropical fruit notes, brett, and spice.
A very fine tasting saison, with bready malt, lemon and tropical fruit, and interesting yeast flavor, with a strong element of brettanomyces yeast with flavors of band-aid and a little copper penny. It is strongly hopped with notes of green grassy hops that linger in the long finish, and turns progressively bitter, finishing up like orange rind. There is a lot going on in this beer that is hard to describe, but it is definitely complex, interesting, very well balanced, and tasty.
Body is medium and the carbonation is moderate, giving this a slightly creamy mouthfeel.
A saison that is defined by a good yeast strain(s) that is interesting, complex, hoppy, and well balanced. Love getting all this flavor in a brew that is 7.5% ABV--could drink loads of this stuff, but this was my last bottle.
