Happy to see these beers, a new addition to Ohio and another in a round of beers previously unavailable to me in Indiana.
Tawny in color, SH Secret ale looks gloomy-amber up against the light. Sturdy, layered head.
Nose is nutty, husky, and big with malt character. Whole grains and a nutty-spice thing I interpret as Germanic hops.
Taste is subtle, dry, bittersweet. Surely not a beer that makes you stand up and take notice, but a thing of subtlety and quiet. Doesnt do a lot for me, to be honest. Bready, near-sour.
Unpleasant reedy bitterness I find goes away when it gets close to cellar temperature. Hopefully other offerings I find from SH Ill enjoy more.

Stopped by the publick house for a bite and to pick up some IRS bottles. Ordered a flight with bratwurst. Brew arrivedin a few ounce sample pour. Copper color. Fairly malt forward with a soft hop. German crystalized malts. Nice easy drinker nothing mind blowing. Good altbier.
