Southampton Altbier poured dark copper with no head. Nothing was left on the glass.
The smell and taste were non-descript malt and yeast. There was an acidic aftertaste. The feel was slightly bitter. Due to the lack of flavor and unpleasant aftertaste, it was not easy to finish.
Southampton Altbier tastes and feels like a dark run-of-the-mill lager and completely lacks the substance of decent old ale.

Stopped by the publick house for a bite and to pick up some IRS bottles. Ordered a flight with bratwurst. Brew arrivedin a few ounce sample pour. Copper color. Fairly malt forward with a soft hop. German crystalized malts. Nice easy drinker nothing mind blowing. Good altbier.
