poured a deep copper color with tannish puffy head that fell to a thin coating, leaving nice lacing on the glass. Smell is truly delightful with nice toasty malt, dark fruitiness (prunes, dates, figs) wiht maybe a note of red wine. Taste is also great with a nice creamy maltiness and dark fruitiness, cobing with a bit of dry hops. Finish is more dry than malty and leads to the disre for another taste. An excellent beer. My first beer from Southampton, and I deifintely will be looking for more.

Stopped by the publick house for a bite and to pick up some IRS bottles. Ordered a flight with bratwurst. Brew arrivedin a few ounce sample pour. Copper color. Fairly malt forward with a soft hop. German crystalized malts. Nice easy drinker nothing mind blowing. Good altbier.
