Pours a dark chestnut brown body with deep ruby hues beneath the foamy, tan head that is packed with dense bubbles of carbonation and patiently leaves a sticky, yet thin lacing behind.

There are some roasted malt aromas atop the beer but it appears to be a bit on the sweet side for a porter, offering milk chocolate and hints of light coffee grounds.

The flavor is slightly roasted, certainly not smoked, with hints of sweetness in there, maybe chocolate malt.

Medium in body, although light for a porter with medium carbonation and lacking the nice smoky finish I would like to see.

A nice beer, but lacking the robust qualities I would expect to see from an Imperial Porter.

On the pour it has a rich deep brown color and produced a medium sized head. The heads fades to a small frothy coating while leaving a bit of lacing.
Aroma doesn't really appear any different then your standard porter. Hints of roasted malts are dominate with subtle aromas of coffee and cocoa.
The taste has plenty of roasted malts perhaps chocolate and a bit of smoke.
Drinks a bit course and doesn't flow across the palate easily/
The alcohol is the only thing I see thats amped up here, everything else is pretty standard I'm afraid.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a footed tulip

A: Black. Pours a 2 finger, foamy, brown head. Settles slowly and unevenly. Plenty of spider web lacing.

S: Malt, dark chocolate is the most prominent characteristic.

T: Bitter pecan shell, unsweetened dark chocolate, charred malt.

M: Hearty body, with a bit of a bitter finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Substantial foamy head, and some thick persistent lacing. Nose is malty and chocolatey. Unsweetened dark chocolate with some bitter toasted malt grains. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.
