12 oz. brown bottle into a foothills glass

A: Dull hazy amber orange color. Like apple cider. No clarity. Minimal off whit foamy head. Not much carbonation visible. A bit of lace as drunk.

S: Sourdough bread and fruity hop scent. Nice.

T: Snappy bitterness from the hop giving way to a very good balance with the malty sweetness toward the end. Finishes bitter but clean. Malt more evident as the brew warms. Quite good and highly drinkable.

M: Light but not watery. More carb tingle than is visible which I like. Kind of cardboardy with a stiffness and the most minimal stickiness. I like this a lot.

O: Keller Pils is a pleasant surprise. Especially since, unless I misread the stamp, this beer appears to be pretty damned old but my fault for not seeing that in store. This is good enough IMO to buy regularly but at $10/6, I likely will only revist it if on special. It is very good though.

Pours a lovely hazy golden straw. It's a touch thinner this time around, but the nose is still lemony barnyard with a hint of hoppy goodness.
Has a nice full mouthfeel for its weight, and tastes on par for the Americanized style. Typical German Pilsner, but the drying hop finish sets it ahead. If your a Prima Pils fan give it a whirl.
Crushable. This sixer doesn't stand a chance...

Pours hazy and yellow with a scant head that fell fast and did not leave much lace. Nose is grass, sweet malt and lemon grass. Taste is dry, a touch buttery and a bit of lemon. Finishes with a slight bitter, some peach flesh and lemony notes. Coarse texture and a good mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a cloudy golden color. The head is a finger high, eggshell in shade, and quite fluffy. The retention is about average for the style, too. Some streaks of lacing are left behind - nothing significant, though.

S: Hrm, quite promising. The noble hops are there (subtle, but they're definitely there), along with some malty sweetness, white wine notes, and a bit of buttery diacetyl. Seems to be a well-rounded beer: not only are the notes balanced within one another, but both the hops and malts are equally perceptible.

T: The initial hop burst is equally grassy/bitter and peachy at the same time. Malts enter the picture near the back end, along with some peppery and lemony notes. It's reasonably deep/layered for a pilsner: it goes from fruity on one sip, to peppery, to malty, and all the way back to fruity. No doubt, this is better than the average pils.

M: Have I ever said how much I love the crisp bite of a good unfiltered beer? I don't like the coarse finishing texture that much, though. A beer like this should be very drinkable...and it absolutely is, so no real complaints otherwise. Good carbonation.

O: I could genuinely session this. This has enough flavor to make me want to take my time with it, but is still immensely drinkable. Would be great in the summertime, natch.

Clear yellow golden color if poured carefully, but lots of sediment in the bottle. I don't know why this isn't categorized as a Kellerbier, but it does taste like a big Pilsner. Plenty of foam in the big chalice, and a satisfying frothy carbonation in the mouth.

Seriously perfumey in flavor with the sweet and malty taste. Tangy hop flavors with a lot of spice. Quite yeasty, bright, and sharp. There is a distinctly bitter finish, though I got wrapped up in all the aromatics and the bitterness doesn't dominate the taste.

Overall, this is a very drinkable but rather intensely flavored light beer. The small bottle makes a great taster, I think a big quaff would wear out its welcome. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.
