Dark brown appearance, little to no head after 20 years. Bakers chocolate, espresso beans, tobacco, leather, faint molasses. Medium body, light carbonation, minor oxidation. Held up very nicely after 20 years.

Shared with JLindros for review #3600. Bottle 350/450 vintage 2013.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark black hue with a good one finger mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket. Great legs.

S - Big aromas of dark fruits, char, black licorice. The alcohol is hidden nicely, slight marshmallow like. Really pleasant.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of dark fruits, light char. The black licorice is nice, great fruits. Just solid Russian imperial.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, good alcohol hidden, excellent finish.

O - Overall this was a very solid Russian imperial stout. Great char and stellar dark fruits. Alcohol is hidden nicely.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing app I didn't have to crack my old bottle, 2013
Pours a giant foamy black head, great retention, good lacing, great legs, as black as you can get

Nose huge roasted malt and dark chocolate cocoa, mild anise and spices, a little vanilla and caramel, some coffee, roast, some nougat marshmallow candy bar, mild dark fruits

Taste big roast as spicy hops bringing big bitterness, mild fruity esters, dark fruits plum fig like, big anise, some tingly hot alcohol, creamy lush dark malts, hint of caramel and big spicy bitter hop, little char and bitter rind, anise and spice, sticky finish

Mouth is fuller bod, thick lush little creamy, nice creamy carb and mIld alcohol

Overall good but not what I remember it being, could be mind's eye or change of palate, either way good but not incredible

2014 bottle 169 of 550 into a perfect stout glass. first from this brewery, although I've had this bottle a few years now.

looks great, the nose is a bit hidden but it's bursting with flavor, layers of different taste hit you hard. reminds me a lot of darkness actually but a bit more sweet. some soy some dark fruit definitly a tasty brew

thanks to nick for the chance!
