My beer is not brewed in NY. It reads Wilkes-Barre, PA. I guess it's close and I'm not sure of the descreapncy, but I figured I should mention it. I'm fairly confident it's the same brewery. The beer is good, but it's really sweet and smooth for an IPA. It doesn't really have any significant hops flavor, but it is a tasty beer. Not typical of the style or something I will go back too, but not a bad beer. The smell is also more malt than hops. Drink it if it's handy, don't seek it out.
I reviewed some other reviews and agree with a couple people who commented this beer is way more similar to a classic British IPA or maybe even a Belgian IPA, but it is even less hop friendly than either of those styles in my opinion.
