Served on draft in an imperial pint at the Laurelwood NW Public House, it is listed on the chalkboard as 100 IBU. Poured a hazy amber bronze, with a small off-white head that left moderately decorative lace.
The aroma was citrus hops, namely grapefruit with a touch of grape, pretty good.
The taste is totally dominated by the hops, making it difficult to distinguish the rye. Heavy on the grapefruit hops (amarillo?) with a strong bitter finish and a fusel alcohol kick.
The mouthfeel is only slightly creamy, with a medium body. It was served too cold, and the 20 oz pint didn't warm much by the time I got through it, even at a modest pace.
This was not very drinkable, and overall was pretty rough. The hops quickly obliterated my palate, and it was just not that tasty. One was more then enough.
Serving type: on-tap
