This is Laurelwood's 2007 fresh hop seasonal ale. The brewers headed down to Mt. Angel and brought back 70 lbs of Willamette hops, then continually wet-hopped during the boil and ran it through 25 lbs in the hop back.
Pours a bright golden color, topped by a small, thick, creamy white head that leaves some beautiful sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of wonderfully floral Willamette hops, with some grassy notes and a touch of sweetness from the pale malt.
Palate is nice and hoppy, yet well-balanced. Floral, piney hops and lightly sweet pale malt complement each other perfectly. A mild biscuity character lends a touch of sweetness mid-palate, followed by a nice, lingering bitterness on the finish. The body is velvety smooth, and just a touch creamy. This is just about perfect, especially when fresh. I could drink this all day, every day. (851 characters)
