Had on tap today... had it a long time ago, but had to give it a shot again...
- Dark slightly cloudy brown/amber color... not as black as I was expecting... Fluffy eggshell head..
- Roasted Caramel.. the place smelled of the grains/malts used.. same taste in the belch.. slight roasty chocolate malt.. grainy..
- Creamy and roasty taste.. a nice complex caramel and sweet grain... and very light and rather refreshing actually..
- Slightly chewy and dry, but not too much..
- Super sessionable porter, smooth, light, and creamy.

Enjoyed in a shaker pint.
Cranberry-brown, very clear. A thin head of silky, mocha cappuccino foam is sticky, leaving nice spatters of lace.
Nutty aroma. Peanuts and pecans, lightly roasted; sweet caramel and brown sugar, balanced with a subtle earthy note.
The flavor leads with apple cider notes — bright red apples and earthy hops. The swallow brings waves of hazelnuts and toasted biscuits before a dry finish.
Body just a notch under medium. Moderate, pinching carbonation. Smooth fizz.
Decent. Good, nutty flavor. Very drinkable.

Bottle ~9 months old, so age may play a factor.
Pours a clear, deep mahoganny red-brown. Two fingers of pillowy cream-colored head, nice retention, and sticky rings of lacing.
Smell is nutty (hazelnut) and soft, with some hay-like hops and a touch of graham cracker. Once the head dies down, there's some nice brown sugar. Overall, the smell is pleasant but rather faint.
Taste is quite a bit sharper, with a kind of twang that I can't place. A mid-level hop bitterness comes on pretty early and lasts throughout. There's really not much flavor to it, at least not much that recalls a brown ale. Pretty weird, actually.
Mouthfeel is decent. Medium-light body, carbonation a little on the low side. Watery finish.
An okay beer, but the taste falls flat, and I find it generally uninspiring. Don't think I'll be finishing this bomber. There are better beers to drink.

At the airport, again.
A - Served a dark, almos amber brown with a light tan head. Good retention that fades to half it hangs on thought. Good lacing left on the glass.
S - Very nutty an roasted malts. Not much here.
T - Ahh, roasted malts, sweet roasts nuts an some light hop grass.
D - Good carbonation and a thin body.
O - decent all around. Not sure how I feel about the hop presence in a nut brown.

First had: on tap at Laurelwood Public House, Portland, OR
Poured a light brown with a small cap of off-white head that receded to a thin layer of bubbles. Roasty malts on the nose, toasted bread and coffee notes. More of the same in the taste: roasty brown malts, coffee grounds, biscuity, nutty, mild grassy hops. Not too impressed, but then again, it is a brown ale, so I didn't expect much. Medium body, and fairly drinkable, but I wouldn't get it again.

The Hooligan Brown Ale is tasty. The beer poured a nice rich brown with thin white head that is lacing. The smell is powered by caramel malt. The taste starts with good caramel malty notes, but the finish has a bitterness that clings on the pallet. The mouthfeel is ok, lighter in body...i would prefer a heavier brown. The carbonation is decent. Overall it is a good beer and for all you Brown lovers....it is worth a taste.
