I gather this is this year's wet hop IPA from Laurelwood. To no great surprise, this beer is flat out fabulous.

The beer pours a light amber color with very good head retention and lacing. The nose is attractive, showing some pleasant citrus, pine and wet earth. This beer actually smells pretty good, but in no way does the nose prepare you for the flavor profile. On the palate, this beer is all NW hoppy goodness. There's enough sweet malt to balance the beer (in fact the balance on this beer is near perfect), but it was the trademark sturdy hop profile of pine, citrus, pepper, coupled with the light underlying caramel flavor, that had me going "wow"! In short, the flavor profile on this excellent beer is very, very impressive. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, bitter and incredibly thirst quenching. At 5.9% alcohol, this beer is everything I want in an IPA, but rarely ever find. This lovely hoppy beauty glides down your throat, and at $3 an imperial pint (during happy hour), represents one of the best deals on the planet.

If this were available on the East Coast this would be my "go to" IPA. Light, hoppy, incredibly flavorful and oh so drinkable. This is great stuff.
