From notes, 25 July 2009. Laurelwood Pizza Company
Sommerzeits: 12 Plato. 20 IBU's. 5.3% ABV.
Mostly clear golden body beneath a short head of bright white that holds fairly well and leaves spots and streaks of lace behind. The aroma is malty (straight-forward grainy 2-row) and gently fruity (mainly apple). Minor hops appear in the back ground, spicy/herbal and gently floral. The flavor follows suit, and it's well balanced by a very firm bitterness from behind. The hops remain in the background. The malt is dominant, but it's not out of balance. Medium-light bodied in the mouth and gently crisp. Easy drinker. Little bitterness. Mass appeal. Pleasant and easy drinking. No faults. It's a very good attempt but it somehow doesn't quite focus the fruitiness/malt/hops like the best from Køln do.
Serving type: on-tap
