A - Pours a cloudy mix of amber and ruby with a smaller light khaki head.

S - Some caramel, malt, and white pepper.

T - The taste is just out of this world. It has the rich, toffee-like, belgian candi sugar sweetness of a tripel. A very similar dark fruit, prune, spicy component akin to a triple or even a winter ale, this warm spiciness blends expertly with the chili heat that attacks the edges of the tongue and holds on through the finish.

M - Barely less than medium bodied, smooth.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber color with a very modest head that does manage, however, to splash a lot of lacing around

Smell: Overripe stone fruit and Juicy Fruit gum

Taste: Honeyed stone fruit flavors and Juicy Fruit gum, up front, with a chile burn that develops by mid-palate; the sweet and hot flavors blend, after the swallow, and are well-balanced into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Interesting idea, and I do like the chile combination with some beer styles but the Tripel isn't one of them

This beer poured out as a golden color with a thin white head on top. The smell of the beer wasn't very strong with pepper at all. The smell was mostly like any other Tripel out there really. The taste of this was rather mild. I wasn't really picking but much spice at all in this beer. The flavors of grains and bready Belgian yeast were prominent in this one. The mouthfeel was decent but I felt like it was a little on the flat side. Overall this beer wasn't overly impressive to me, I felt as though it needed something a little more to put it at a better level for me. It was decent but wouldn't buy it again.

Served in a Dogfish Head snifter.

Upon hearing of this beer's existence, I had to track it down and try it. A chile tripel? Let's dance: It pours a partly cloudy sunrise amber topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose comprises black pepper, light white bread, light clove, and the lightest possible kiss of mild caramel. The taste brings in more of the same, but now the peppers come in, close to the finish, providing some spice and a decently small bit of heat. Honestly, the peppers really bring this thing together, rescuing it from general mediocrity. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, an interesting beer, one that doesn't necessarily win on all accounts, but it does generally satisfy.

A: Hazy amber in colour with a hardly noticable head.

S: Pepper and bitterness, a bit like a young woman ;)

T: The first thing that comes to mind is the pepper. But when that fades there´s a sweet caramel taste with a nutty hint and with a backbone of bitterness.
After the sip has migrated down to the intestines it leaves a chili afterglow with a honeysweet twist to it.

M: Quite thick and quite carbonated. Medium to full bodied with other words.
Feels nice on the palate, smooth.

O: Quite special taste to it but still very drinkable, nice one to open an evening with. I haven´t really tasted anything like this one before.

Thanks Mike, apparenlty the Bros of the Alstrom variety really liked this beer, me? not so much. Served in a tulip.

Beer is yellowish and mostly clear with a white head of decent lacing, some carbonation, nice head, decent retention.

Aroma is yeasty, sweet, malty, a little spice.

The chilis in this beer show up late to the game, only in the dry finish do I get them, the spice is real though, the forward of the beer is a little boring, not great, just OK. I don't hate it I just don't understand it or care enough to drink it again.

Part of Blind BIF 6. Thanks to Brez07. Served in a SAVOR wine glass.

Pours a slightly-hazy orange-copper color with a bubbly white head and a touch of sticky lacing. The nose is fairly-sweet with a good amount of fruit and some light booze. Touch of light diacetyl. Flavor again has a good amount of fruit and some light fruitiness. A bit of booze in the background. Medium body with low-moderate carbonation. A bit of a harsh dryness to the finish. Something I can't quite pin but don't care for. Guessing some sort of barleywine, likely American as there is a bit of bitterness in the finish and not the traditional heavy sweetness as an English Barleywine.

Reveal: Wow. Midtfyns Bryghus Chili Tripel. So far off. I guess chili is what I thought the booze was. Don't get anything remotely resembling a tripel in this one.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had an amber color and a cloudy consistency. A good amount of sediment. There was a big, foamy, long-lasting head. Not much lacing at all.

S: A very muted aroma, consisting mainly of malt. Didn't smell the chilis.

T: Tasted of malt, a little sugar, and some chili in the finish. Mainly, this beer had a thin, one-dimensional flavor without any real dynamism.

M: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth, clean finish. Medium-bodied.

O: Not the worst beer I've ever tried, but it's certainly forgettable.

I let this warm a bit out of the fridge. Poured with a smallish, off white head that quickly settled down to a small island and no lace. Color is an orange honey medium dark amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is yeast, malt, bandages, toffee, astringent, minerals. Flavor is similar to nose, yet doesn't yield the chili straight up; the bandages are prominant along with sweetness. Chili heat comes in quite mild later. Body is ok and ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor and even with the heat, not that good. Don't want any more. Cook with it???

Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a Unibroue tulip.

A: Pours a hazy dark orange color with one finger of off white head. Good retention and lace.

S: Sweet fruity esters, a little banana.

T: Nice fruit up front with spice on the finish. The chile flavor emerges as part of the finish after the first few sips, but never gets out of balance. The tripel on its own is good, and the chile finds a spot to fill that makes it part of the whole.

M: Medium body and quite creamy. The chile also makes itself known as a prickly sensation on the end of the tongue.

O: This beer is quite enjoyable. The chile works quite well to complement the style-- somebody really thought the taste combination through, and it shows. Well done.

Look: Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a small head, leaving a nice lacing.
Smell: Malts, citrus, butter, chili, light banana and some flower hops
Taste: Initially quite sweet; toffee, caramel, banana, malts and spicy. The beer has an exquisite chili touch, which tingles the tongue in the aftertaste. Alcohol is warming. crisp beer.
Mouthfeel: medium carbonation, medium-light body
Overall: Very special brew, nice!
