Shared 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of subdued herbal hops, some fruity hints. Hoppy flavour, some fruit and malts too, sharpish bitterness in the finish.

The warm off-white head is two fingers high, it sinks very slowly leaving some lacing. The clear liquid is brass-coloured.
The smell is a bit chemical with notes of green apples, honey, toffee and bitter herbs. Medium strong bitterness. Sweet notes of dough and a hint of white rum.
The taste starts off with a mild yet noticeable note of wood. Green apples, cheap butterscotch and hints of solvents. Medium bitterness. Some flowers and hay. Medium body. The aftertaste is sweet (sticky) with some fruits and green flowers. Hints of cellar and apples. The finish is chemical and semi-bitter.
The carbonation is light, the bubbles small and smooth. The liquid is a bit sticky.
An odd beer with lots of flavours that don’t go well together.

An almost clear amber ale, an off-white head leaving good lacing. Some lacing.
Smelling fruity, somewhat citric and tropical, pine and soap.
Starting sweet, bread, toffee, resin and grape peel.
Medium high carbonation, smooth and sticky, a big body, a long dry finish.
A balanced APA, almost ipaish, nothing extraordinary.

Pours a medium appearance with a good sized head. Mild hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel, understated hop flavour, however it is enjoyable drinkable and somewhat complex, like a Belgian, with some orange citrus. Not the best pale, but a good one. Bit drying finish.

Bottle from my Secret Santa, best by 10/28/09. Pours a deep orange-brown with a thick, foamy light tan head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and light floral hops. Flavor is spicy initially with sweet floral and some citrus hops and caramel malt in the finish. Nice APA.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with some great caramel malt backbone. Taste is also more bitter then expected with some nice notes of sweet caramel malt. Body is fuller then style would suggest with some great carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. Loads of character and maybe too much for the style.
