The colour is gold with a hint of red (25 EBC), the liquid is clear. The off-white head is low. It sinks quite quickly leaving very little lacing.

The smell is a bit frowsy. Some bitter flavours some oxidized raisins and toffee.

The taste got some bitter flavours. Vegetables, oxidized metallic flavours, quite a lot of malt sweetness. The flavours are raw and unbalanced. Sweetness, metal, roasted nuts and a growing bitterness. Strong alcohol flavours in the finish.

The carbonation is strong; the medium sized bubbles are semi-smooth. The liquid is a bit thick.

I bought this bottle in August 2011, the best before date is May 2012. Still, it bears all sings of being too old.

Bottle received in CanBIF 2012. Thanks phyl21ca! Bottle received in May around its expiration date (5/27/12), poured into a wine glass at 6 C. Sampled June 30, from notes.

Nice light copper body with a tall white head and little lacing. Some fruity esters on the nose with a hint of booze a lot with a ton of malt. Very thick malty beer with some earthy hop and a note of fruit on the body. Dominated by flavours of molasses & treacle. Tastes quite hot. Wish I had it fresher, but it is what I got...

Bottle: Poured a deep golden/beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of bitter and pine hops is pleasant. Taste is a mix between hoppy notes with resin flavour and some dry caramel malt with a bit too much residual sugar for the style. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad overall but lacking some floral hoppy notes and somewhat too sweet for the style.

Appearance Pours into a tall and proud XXXL wine glass. The beer’s a peach colored and cloudy thing. 2 finger off-white head that retains for a minute or so.

Smell First out is a forceful hop punch that even stings my eyes. The stinging persist through out the drinking beer. Notes of alcohol infused almond paste, toffee, soil and crushed hazelnuts.

Taste Alcohol is the thought that pops into my mind at the first sip of beer and lots of it. Then a three second pause of nothingness. Slow and accumilative bitter hops thirdly, taking my tongue under siege. Funny enough there aren’t any flavors that have appeared yet. Empty and a bit spooky so far. Because of the intense bitterness (almost numbing my whole mouth by now) there’s a white grape fruit flavor and a hint of that almond paste mentioned earlier.

Mouthfeel A full medium bodied brew. Wild carbonation! The bitterness paving way for a shortlived but memorable aftertaste. The high alcohol feel giving a viscous liquid.

In conclusion My audio review lasted 8.5 minutes just like the ale’s ABV. A sign or not? Maybe I should try and do recordings as long as the reviewed beer’s alcohol content?

Anywho, after being presented with an amazing aroma it’s a huge disappointment tasting it, feeling mainly numb and empty. There’s one piece missing to this puzzle and it happens to be one of the most important, ei taste.

A: Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a thick and creamy beige head that slowly dissipates into decent lacings.

S: Light roasted caramell malt. Floral hops, gives it a fruity tone; citric and at the same time piney: grapefruit sezt, lemon, oranges and faint pineapple.

T: Sweet caramell malt, bready and light roast. Bitter hops, but even more floral hops - American style; pineapple, grapefruit, orange sezt.

M: Lovely aftertaste, long-lasting and bone-dry bitter. Body is smooth and medium to full, while carbonation is mild.

O: A well balanced DIPA, with a bit more bitterness than usually (NICE!).

The beer is clear deep brass colored, has a firm off-white head settling rather slow and leaving some lacing. Good curtains.

The smell is initially sweet and fruity, apples, mango, then floral with hay and grass.

The taste has a small sweetness, loaf of bread, nearly over-ripe apples, grape-fruit bitterness, peel and seeds.

Medium high carbonation, small spritzy bubbles, a soft and rather thick texture, a long dry finish.

A nice well balanced DIPA, mostly east coast or even British.
