Enjoyed at casa tua restaurant in Aruba from bottle

3.5
A. Don't have a glass to pour it in so it's hard to judge appearance. Perfectly clear golden color. Head is white and seems to stick around in the bottle. Unable to judge lacing

3.5
S. grAiny but not incredibly grassy. Slightly skunky but not as bad as I expected. No hope on the nose.

T. 4
Very refreshing when enjoyed cold. The skunky smell doesn't really carry through on the taste. Sweet up front and slightly bitter and grainy on the finish. Even As the beer warms it remains inoffensive as a cerveza

M. 4.

Crisp and refreshing. Light body with medium carbonation. The medium carbonation is refreshing compared to the heavy carbonation of light lagers

O. 4.

A good shot at the cerveza style. Does well to stand up to the task.

9.3oz (275ml) bottle from Aruba.

Pale yellow gold with small white ring of head.

Smells almost entirely of skunked hops. Bit of sweet corn-like adjunctiness there also.

Wow, lots of "dirty" and skunky metallic taste for how little taste is here overall. Nothing "clean" about it at all. Sweet corn tortilla chips. Corona Light.

Rough, stingy carbonation, almost no body, ultra-light feel overall. Hard to finish all 9.3 oz.

Similar to Corona but bottle is smaller. I'm bringing my own cans of real beer at the end of this month. Aruba was great wasteland for Craft beer 2 years ago when I went last.

Poured from a clear bottle that says "Drink it Ice Cold." Yes, to avoid having to actually taste it. Pours a clear light golden with only the slightest white head that disappears quickly. The nose consists of skunky grains. The taste is marginally better, with biscuitous bready notes. The mouth is light, and goes down easy. Roughly equal with Corona or any of the mass-produced pale lagers/cervezas. I can say it's any worse than they are, but neither is it better.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker, the beer is a pale, copper-gold coloring with a steady flow of carbonation and no substantial head. Aromas of tangy floral and sweetness, with a toasted grain backbone. Fairly muted, and fairly standard. Flavors are extremely muted, and the increased carbonation provides a sharpness that makes the drinkability dip a bit, which is surprising for an island style lager. Toast, with buttery notes, and that's about it. Sharp, light, crisp bodied, but too much so. The aftertaste is more of the tangy sweet and floral, with that buttery character still kicking around. Light, effervesced, clean aftertaste. I can see why this has never come stateside.

We pour a brew of the lightest, watered-down yellow. It holds a fluffy two finger head, briefly, before it quickly recedes to a bubbly mist over the glass. No lacing is left, and no sediment is noted. There is maximal transparency, and carbonation appears to be very high. The aroma is wrought with adjuncty grain. There is also a sticky sweetness present, along with an offensive coiny metal and floury graininess. The taste profile is initiated with sour adjuncty grain. Through the middle there is a slight fruity vibe, perhaps of sweeter lime, or of the lemony variety. From here we transition to a finish that highlights adjuncty grain, and little else. The aftertaste follows suite with more bitter adjuncts, and a boringness of corn. The body is light, and the carbonation is medium to high. The mouthfeel of the beer is watery, with no coating, froth, creaminess, or slurpability. Very light. The abv is standard, and the beer drinks easily.

Overall, the best thing about this beer is the way it pours, with a nice, but short lived, fluffy head. This, however, quickly disappears, only to set us up for a flat feel, adjuncty aroma, and a watery, sour, and less than desirable taste.

Brand new from Amstel, I'm not sure if this refreshing Carribean beer is available in America right now. It is brewed in Curacao and can be found throughout Holland's Carribean islands (e.g. Curacao, Aruba). It has a very crisp, light taste, bearing resemblance to Corona. Must be served ice cold.
