This was our first stop when in town for GABF. It was about 5 blocks from our hotel so a leisurely stroll over for a late lunch early dinner (4:00ish). Very easy to find as it is right on the main drag. We walked in and were greeted by a hostess and we could sit anywhere we want. Place has been open for only a month. Still doing some decorating etc. There is a smaller room to the left of the door, a standard rectangular bar with about 15-20 stools in the center-left and the rest of the room is booths and table chair combos. Lots of red brick wall and interesting ceiling decor. The walls are a little sparse, but I think this will be covered up. There were about 15 taps all belgians except one local, 1554 from New Belgium. The bottle list is similar in size maybe a few more. ONe member of our crew did have trouble finding a bottle, his first two choices were out. All drafts come in the proper and logoed glassware, nice touch. bottles have standard tulip or chalice type glasses.
The food is some pub grub with a mix of salads, snadwiches and soups, of course fries and mussels as well. I had a turkey reuben which was nicely done and came with an ample amount for fries. All others were happy with their food and beer choices. The service was very friendly and even though slow when we arrived there was no hovering which was also nice. I think with some wall decor (pictures, breweriana) this place will be a nice spot to hit up. The neighborhood may be on the edge of shady, so perhaps not the best spot for last call? Not sure on that just observations. Ask a local to confirm. I would highly recommend checking this place out. the beers are pricey, but Belgians usually are, $6-12 bottle or draft is the range for most.
Check it out, I am sure it will only get better as they are open longer.

Ok so I finally checked this place out and left very unimpressed. To start off they had Pliny the Elder listed at $8 which I thought was a little expensive until they brought it in a 25cl glass, super expensive seeing as how Falling Rock has pints for $7. If they are selling short pours it should be noted on the menu. We were also seated in a side room that has terrible ambience. The service was good but the good was mediocre. I ordered mussels ($13) and not only were there not very many but they were way to salty. There is a French restaurant her (le central) that not only has much better mussels but they are only $10 and you get a huge bucket. Between the overpriced beer and mediocre food I won't be back and is advise others to avoid unless you really need Belgian beer. They did have Cantillon gueuze on the menu for $22 per 375ml.

A place of elegance within one of the harsher areas of town. Beer line up was impressive and tap list superb. I did think though in some instances they were overpriced but that might go with the territory as places downtown seem to run a little more quite often. Server was very knowledgeable about beer. This is definitely worth a stop if you're into Belgians and want a wide range of good craft from one source. I myself though will probably go to other alternatives in town with some many other less expensive choices.

Cheeky Monk on Colfax Avenue, a weird hodgepodge of porno stores, homeless people and hipsters. Parking kind of weird, one of the most uneven parking lots behind the place totally being displaced by tree roots underneath it, and construction going on across the way.

Get inside, and it looks more like the quinetessential English pub decor, tons of polished wood. But then you start to notice the glassware, the Gulden Draak tower, etc. . . and it definitely takes on the vibe of a Belgian place. Overall, nice and impressive, plenty of space beyond the bar area for dining, a few tables in the bar area. A

Good list of beers, heavy on the Belgian stuff, they were out of all the Russian River stuff. Believe I had a Green Flash Linchpin here. Service was good, waitress checked on us the right amount, cheery.

Food smelled good. Had it at the other location, I have no reason to think this place isn't as good. Ultimately I like the Westminster location a little more (having more Avery & Russian River will do that). But this is a worthwhile stop, especially with the awesome 2UP bar down the road and Argonaut around the way. Plus, if you're the type who likes skinny jeans and porno, this neighborhood is for you.

Cheeky Monk is located on Colfax Ave on the east side of downtown Denver. Street parking is available nearby.

The interior is dark with brick and wood, plus some large pieces of art. Some signage of available beers

Tons of Belgian options on tap, all served in proper glassware. Had St. Bernardus 12, Kwak and Tripel Karmeliet.

I didn't eat any food, but did enjoy a few relaxing beers on a slow day. The bartender was beautiful, which didn't hurt

Overall I really liked this place and would definitely visit again and would recommend it to any beer lover visiting Denver.

My friend and I visited Saturday morning of GABF for a special "Breakfast with the Bruery" prior to the noon GABF session.

Located in a neighborhood that appears to be undergoing revitalization. An easy cab ride or nice walk from downtown.

Because they typically don't serve breakfast and this was a special event, my experience may differ from yours. The overall experience was very pleasant.

We went with a Bruery paddle which consisted of ~4 oz pours of Autumn Maple, Saison Rue, Hotenroth, and Mischief. I think they were $12 each.

The food was high quality and generous portions for the price.

We finished by splitting a glass of the Bruery Bourbon Barrell Cuir (14%) for $14. I was hoping they would have more rare Bruery stuff available and maybe even the chance to meet Partick Rue. No dice on either.

When I asked my server what order to consume the flight, she had no idea but the service steadily improved during the course of the meal. Some basic beer training could improve the service.

The decor had lots of rich wood furniture and an impressive bar but was otherwise bland with your standard Belgian beer signs.

Now this place is THE BOMB! I'm not giving it a 5/5 just because i'm an honest kind of guy, however I love this place.

Good atmosphere, not in the sexiest place in Denver but definitly gets a more respectable crowd than lodo bars.AMple seating inside, also some outside available.

Never had an issue with service here. Great workers, quite knowledgable.

Selection really cannot be beat in CO as Belgian beer goes. And Belgian Beer is the Rason de Etre for going here.

Food was solid. Last visit there, I had the steamed mussels and rabbit stew. Both were wonderful.

Wish it were cheaper, but then again they import 98% of their booze from Belgium so its bound to be expensive

This little whole in the wall is located across for the Cathedral in downtown Denver.

The inside of the bar is nicely done with wooden booths and beer signs from all over Belgium.

I order an Orval and was presented with the bottle and a matching orval glass, it was quite impressive. My friend order Chimay blue and Rochefort 8, both of which came with their own logo glasses. It was a nice touch.

I did not try the food but the beer was good, and not that much more than you would pay in the store to buy a bottle of Orval or other Trapist beer.

The selection was impressive and I plan on returning.
