I was excited when I learned that this was now available. This beer pours deep hazy orange liquid, and is capped with a long lasting , slightly off white froth, leaving substantial spider web lace. The aroma temporarily made me speechless. In the nose, it's bursting with fresh peaches and apricots, mangoes, and some pineapple. This is followed by welcome fresh hops, a touch of pine needle, and a good dose of candy malts. Upon tasting this nectar, I was blown away by the peach/mango/grapefruit flavour profile. It is quite upfront, and unlike anything I have had to date. It is balanced with lots of bittering hops, which leave a nice bite mid way through. Honeysuckle, earthy malts, and a slight bubblegum component in the finish. This beer grows as it warms, and becomes quite complex and flavourful. Easily the best beer I've had in a while. My hat is off to you Grand River Brewing, and also Harold at the Castle for taking the initiative to get this thing flowing. Superb.

The greatly anticipated GRB ale made exclusively for the Castle on King is finally on tap.
Taps a shimmering hazed amber-orange with rich sticky cap that lasts and laces up the glass.
Aroma is malty and lightly musty with a profuse bouquet of peach-grapefruit tones mingling with some grassy and woody notes...becomes more pungent as it warms. Nice nose to this.
Flavor is rich in crystal and amber malts in the front then a rush of fruity notes mingle with piney-citrus bittering.... appearing mid palate is a wee bit of complexity with a number of inflections discernible: honey and pine nuts, herbal botanicals, spiced sweet bread, lemon grass...all this leads to a wet and musty-sweet finish with ample metallic bitter hop "bite" to balance.
Excellent crafted APA like a cross between Anchor liberty and SN pale... the best brew so far from this brewer....only available at the Castle on King in Kitchener.

Unfiltered reserve of the brewmaster. Cidery aroma and in taste with good bitterness. Brown and a good sipper.Fruitiness and nuttiness. Very nice. Real cross style between a Flemish, strong ale, brown ale. Low ABV for the style I know, but it's the best description for this great work.
