I am clearly a victim of marketing. After I heard about Tactical Nuclear Penguin, I've wanted to try it. When I heard the cost, I decided to settle on something else from Brew Dog. I'm not big on IPAs but this and the Hardcore IPA are the only two I've found locally. Might as well give it a shot!
Appearance: A light golden yellow color, good white head that dissipates fast and leaves good lacing
Smell: Biscuity malt, piney, resinous and citrus hops
Taste: Resinous hops hit the palate first, followed by some pine and citrus, with a biscuity malt finish. Some spice to it too. A respectable level of bitterness, but not overdone. Not the most balanced, but balanced enough for an IPA.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation, feels appropriate for the beer.
Overall: A highly respectable IPA. Not the best, not the worst, but certainly is an excellent choice, especially if you are in the UK and it will be fresher than whatever American IPAs are available. I was expected this to be more in your face, but was pleasantly surprised. If I find other beers from Brew Dog, I will certainly try them.

This is almost a session IPA, not boozy not overwhelming hops. A well designed beer. I say almost because its right on the cusp with an abv in the 5-6% range. Its very drinkable. The price was good for a bomber. I would prefer to get this in a six pack, but I have only seen the big boys around here. I love hoppy beers and this one has a good amount of hop presence there, however, its also not a Stone IPA either.
Color: Mild bronze, a decent amount of head that remained throughout.
Smell: Balance of malt and hops, not an intense hop aroma, but a good amount of floral hops.
Taste: Balanced. this could be my go to standard IPA if it were more readily available around here and in six packs. I am not saying they don't put this in six packs, but they are not found around here.
Overall: A pleasant experience, you could drink a few 12 oz beers or a couple of bombers and not be bombed. It has a nice IPA flavor, it is what a regular IPA should taste like.
