Drank my first ever can of the new Punk IPA against the bottle to compare. The can had a BB Date of 24 Dec 11 making it two and and half months older. Both poured into its own identical high tumbler
Obviously similar to the bottle in appearance but the can has put forward a clearer more sparkling looking beer with a pretty fresh aroma. Somewhat thinner in body too but the backbone and slight carbonation seems to support it better making it more rounded and supportive of the flavour. Again, ginger at the end after some fairly reasonable bitterness. This sure seems fresher.
Not bad at all. Certainly merits the B+
Round one to the can. Looks like I'll need to buy some more!

This is exactly what I want in an IPA. I'm not an overly big IPA guy and this might be sacrilege to my IPA-loving friends who always obsess over the hop character of every beer, but this one pretty much tops the list for me. It is full of flavor without going overboard. It is balanced between hops of a vaguely pine or pineapple sort, malts which taste like good bread, and an altogether pleasant medium between the two. It's an IPA which doesn't just taste like an IPA. It tastes like a beer too, and a very good one at that. It was my first introduction to BrewDog's brand of no-nonsense, punk-styled offerings and it will not be my last. So far I have found this to be good in bottles purchased here in the states as well as on tap at their Edinburgh location which I was fortunate to visit last week while vacationing there. This beer goes well with cheese and will forever occupy a place in my palate as the perfect example of hops that aren't over the top.

Clear golden, frothy lingering ivory head. Aroma is floral, resiny, oniony, and slightly citrusy. Flavor is more minerally and earthy, with a resonating bitterness at the finish. Malt is light and crackery, and there's a savory, herbal character throughout. Aroma and bittering hops override the flavoring hops. Not extreme in any direction.

A) Pours with a finger thick head with amazing retention (still holding strong long after the pour). Hazy, golden body. Sticky, tight lacing clings to the glass on the drink down.
S) Peach. Sweet pine.
T) Hops are present from the beginning and are complimented well by the malt bill. Grainy. Citrus fruit - orange/lemon. Hints of black pepper.
M) Creamy. Medium light body. Smooth.
O) A delicious IPA.
