I have to agree with Dannyb. Is this best example of an American IPA I've ever tasted? Absolutely not. Is it (bar 'Proper Job' and 'Jaipur') the only decent british IPA I've ever tasted? Sorry to say, 'yes'. It's a thousand times bolder than most of the other watery British IPA's out there and the guys deserve credit for this. Okay, rant over.
Appearance- orangey with a distinct lack of head- like a less carbonated version of the Meantime IPA.
Smell- I do have to agree that the smell is not as potent as many others, but the hoppiness is there, with a slightly oily sweetness.
Taste- a little too much malt sweetness for me- if anything this should err on the side of MORE hops given it's bold proclaimations.
Mouthfeel- could perhaps do with more carbonation if anything- bit of an oilslick that bubbles might lift, still superb though.
Drinkability- I'd rate this highly as a session beer, especially as you can get it at much more outlets now. Not too high on the ABV, so you can sink a few on the go.
My review is pretty critical in retrospect, but I do love this beer!
