Lovely in your face IPA. Would make a steady diet if brewed locally and in cans (like 6 point or Carton).
A: Completely cloudy apricot. Firm 1 finger head. More like a cask beer (which I like).
S: Flowery, earthy, citric hops over a light Euro base. Beautiful flower store next to a bakery. Best part of this beer. A winner.
T: This beer gets more flowery and bakery as it opens up. Give the beer it's due, it's offering a very pleasant and rich arc that is clean, refreshing, and yet fully textured and flowery. great hops atop a Euro Pilsner style base. Clean. Orange zest, orchids, lillies, flower store. Yet never cloying.
MF: Excels here too, Very lovely mouth feel and finish. Makes you want another. Creamy, soft, delicious, delicate - how do they do that?

BrewDog is a somewhat controversial name in craft beer. They know how to get people's backs up and they aren't afraid to rock the boat, insult big business and brag about how great they are. Some find their arrogant attitude funny and refreshing while others deem it immature. What can't be denied however, is that BrewDog have great quality beer to back up their irreverence.
And so this leads me to Punk IPA, their most well-known beer that for many drinkers, is the first BrewDog product they try. And damn, it's good. When you pour it out of the bottle (or get it on tap if you're lucky) you will be greeted with a golden orange body and a finger of white, foamy head. The smell is intoxicating: you can practically taste the hops before you even put your lips to the glass. There is a blend of citrus fruits with a tinge of bitterness. The flavour is similar to the aroma: hoppy, citrusy and powerful. There is a moderate amount of carbonation and despite the huge flavours it's a very refreshing and moreish drink.
BrewDog claim this is "how beer should be" and it's very hard to argue with them. Well recommended for anyone who enjoys IPA.
