Welcome to a post Punk apocalyptic mother of an ale.

A beer that spent its formative years Blitzkrieg Bopping around India and the sub-continent.

This light, golden classic has been subverted with new world hops to create a devastating explosion of flavour. Steel yourself for Kalashnikov bursts of caramel, incendiary tropical fruit and an all-out riot of grapefruit, pineapple and lychee, before a spiky bitter finish.

This is quintessential Empire with an anarchic twist. Turn up the volume. Pay the man. Embrace the punked up, pimped up Maharajah of Pale Ales.

Nothing will ever be the same again.

Found this oddity in my mix and match at the house of 1,000 beers. Best before 4/16/13
Old beer ahoy!

A - Just a 1/2 inch of sticky white head atop of a orange amber body which is fairly hazy.
S - Subdued hops, English malts, sweet stuff.
T - Well it's not bad it doesn't have much tea malts which is a surprise. Taste like a bitter american IPA with orange and lemon rind.
M - Has a touch heavier body for a 5% ABV beer but it works.

Overall even though its 4+ months old this beer kicks ass as a pale ale. Worth picking up for $1.75.

12 oz bottle with a best by date of 07/02/2015. Batch 183. Poured into an Omer tulip glass. Cool textured label.

Appearance: Finger of spotty white head which quickly recedes to a cap. Dull orange body with good lacing.

Aroma: Mild pine bitterness, fruity orange hops, hop oils, and a dough sweet malt finish. For an IPA and "Punk" I was hoping this would be more amped up.

Taste: Starts malty before going into the aforementioned pine bitterness, hop oils, grass, and citrus hops. Mildly bitter on the finish. Nice cracker malt base.

Mf/drinkability: Easy drinking with a mild hop bitterness presence.

Overall: As is it's a hop forward, easy drinking ale. Doesn't stand out too much in the current IPA market but not bad.

1 Pint, 6.4 oz. Brown Bottle. Imported from Scotland by Anchor Brewing.

A: Pours a hazy golden yellow/orange. Nice bubbly white head. Adequate head
and retention. Lacing is normal for an IPA.

S: Hoppy. Pine. Citrus. is strong. Orange and possible mango. Sugary malts.

T/M: Hops, Pine, Citrus. Really not unlike the aroma. Juicy, sugary and a hint of malts.
Hops are well represented but not over powerful. Dry orange aftertaste.

O: A nice easy to drink hoppy pale ale. Compared to other American IPA's it's actually
pretty weak with the hops. However this really doesn't hurt the beer much at all. A
great IPA from the U.K. A must Try.
