Notes/Commercial Description:
It’s just a helluva shock. Something that gets the adrenalin pumping like a 400 volt shot in a copper bathtub has to be good for the soul. Join the hardcore elite, screw down the throttle and ride. Ride until your lungs bleed and your arms numb. Gun the fucker. Don’t pull back, or slow down until the crazy music starts. Then sit, stunned, wall-eyed, open mouthed, in the realization this mother will drill you with Panzer-like efficiency. And you’ll beg for more.

Michigan

look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Poured into a dimpled pub mug.

Golden with a slight chill haze. Half inch crisp white head with thick lace.

Smells of juicy fruit gum, apricots, ripe mellon and lemon grass.

Taste is a complex fruit cake/caramel covered yellow cake (buttery) up front and a bitter finish; very earthy grassy hop profile. The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste but the memory of the sweetness brings you to take another sip. As this beer warms I detect the suble apricot along with darker fruit in the profile. The bitterness is distictive in flavor; a hop variety I have never experienced before. The alcohol notes ome out as it warms also giving it more of a Scottish Wee Heavy in the finish.

I would suggest only having one of these per session. Heavy and complex. This was an enjoyable "first frost" brew, October in the great state of Michigan.

Cheers!

Galway, Ireland, 33cl bottle.

A: Dark amber or copper. Poured medium head, small bubble / cell size, some lacing, lingers. Lovely appearance. Fresh look.

S: Twang of a single IPA. Thick toffee orange. Not much dankness, which is disappointing for a IIIPA.

T: Bitterness and concentrated toffee orange (oily). Not much else coming through for me.

M: Medium body, I like this in some beers, but a IIIPA? Probably not.

O: Nice beer. A IIIPA’s spirit fighting to get out of a dark ales body.

Too much caramel flavours for style. For me, >IPAs should have minimal caramel flavours to allow the hop character come through; hasn’t happened for me here. Lovely beer to try. I’m a big Brewdog fan, but won’t go out of my way to purchase this again. I wouldn’t like to try this beer in the US, or in Europe, I don’t think it would travel well.

This a very well balanced IPA that goes down very easy.

Poured a dark amber orange with a small head and some lacing. The beer was not too bitter and the malt helped smooth it out to make it a very drinkable IPA. Mouth feel was smooth with hints of citrus and pine.

Will definitely buy this again.
