330ml bottle, served chilled in a Delerium Tremens glass
This is the firs beer i've reviewed in a very long time, lets see how it goes...
Pours with a light straw yellow body, thin whispy white head about half a centimetre thick, pretty poor retention. Some little bubbles of lacing stick to the side of the glass
Smell, lots of thick buttery diacetyl notes highlight a strong english ale character in an otherwise american styled imperial ipa. Some fresh fruit and almonds, little bit of a belgian yeast character also.... sugary sweets, little touch of lavender and purple violets
Taste, crisp strong bittering hops, lots of tart citric and grapefruit bitterness. A slightly dry and musky finish, some harsh bitterness on the palette along with a hunk of sticky fresh wort character
A pretty tasty and bold ipa, not quite as refreshing or balanced as some of the american offerings but still.... solid
Serving type: bottle
