Poured from a 330ml bottle (courtesy of Long813) into a pint glass, Batch 071 with a BBD of April 27, 2011. My bottle has this listed @ 9.2% ABV.
Cool bottle first and foremost; I know BrewDog is notorious for being over the top and what not but I always enjoy reading crap they put on their bottles. The Hardcore IPA goes into a bit about the sacrifice and determination of the malts grains, hop cones and yeast cells involved in this brew. I don't mind this kinda thing at all.
Pours a golden red/deep orange with a light golden brown/tan head. Sheets of lace and good retention. Smells of a grapefruit/citrus fruit, with a crisp and sharp bitterness I can already feel tingling my in my nose. A sweet, rich malt can also be detected here. Taste is initially strong in an orange/tangerine flavour, which fades quickly into the malt base which has an odd yet interesting taste and feel to it. Bit of a grainy/bready feel to it? Really not sure how to describe this. The more I drink this and sense this happening, the more I'm warming up to it, but not loving it. Finish is quick and dry with a lingering bitterness (lots of pine!) and a palate-zapping effect; oily mouthfeel and not a significant amount of carbonation. Bit of alcohol detectable, but is generally unnoticeable in this, making this fairly drinkable given the ABV.
My second offering from BrewDog was certainly more impressive than my first (the Punk IPA), and stands as a decent brew in their lineup.

Serving: 355 mL bottle poured into an IPA glass (batch 081, best before 25/03/15)
Appearance: Bright, slightly hazy orange copper. Frothy, lasting head with moderate lacing.
Smell: Pine needles and candied orange. Clean and welcoming.
Taste: Pine and citrus rind against toffee sweetness. Evenly bitter throughout, but not overly so. Only hints of its 9.2%.
Moutfeel: Smooth, almost oily; medium body with low carbonation.
Overall: Full in aroma and taste, while still nicely balanced and restrained.
