Bottle: standard brown 355mL brown bottle, typically funky BrewDog label.

Appearance: pours a slightly hazy amber in colour with a reasonable off-white head that lasts. Decent lacing too.

Aroma: plenty of grapefruit and pine hops, tropical fruits and some bready malts.

Taste: the grapefruit and passionfruit from the aroma are definitely present, along with some pepper spice and grass.

Aftertaste: a good dose of hop bitterness comes through afterward with a touch of malt.

Mouth feel: a moderate mouth feel with a lower carbonation. Possibly could use a bit more bite.

Overall: a pretty decent pale ale per the BrewDog norm. A nice combination of hops and bread malts. The price of AU$78 a case of 24 x 330mL (2014) seems a bit steep, but maybe a 6-pack every now and then.

This beer poured out as a nice looking golden color. There was a decent head and lacing on it. The smell of the beer gives off a mild hop and malt aroma. Fairly well balanced. The taste of the beer is malty upfront with a nice sweet start kind of bready followed by a subtle bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is good, it's light bodied, solid carbonation and very drinkable. Overall this beer went down pretty quick, very nice sessionable brew here. I would enjoy this one again.

The pour is a hazy yellow color with a white head. Sweet malt on the nose with some bread and biscuit aromas. A light hoppiness, mostly citrus peel and floral aromas. The flavor has a moderate sweetness, mostly bready malt. It's lightly bitter with some floral and grassy hop flavors. Just a hint of citrus peel, too.

I've liked several beers from brewdog and i'm looking forward to this as well.

Great looking beer, quite dark, almost amber. Clear with great carbonation, good fluffy head. Smell is less dominant than expected: it's a bit of herbs, grass and some sort of red berries. Taste is not that sweet like it's suggested on the label.
It's light and crisp.

Very balanced with the malts are bitterness and fruityness from hops. Very pleasant.

A - Bright cloudy orange body under two fingers of white soapy head and then heavy lacing.

S - Hop forward, passionfruit and wheat.

T - Again, hoppy flavours with a moderate bitter bite, orange zest and passionfruit.

M - Medium in body and carbonation.

O - Another solid Brewdog product.

A - A hazy golden fluid, a nice pleasant color to watch. Op top floats a white head that turn to fluffy slowly.

S - Pine, fresh cut grass and citrus!! If this is a blond, it smell definitely like an IPA.

T - Not to sweet upfront, more dry tasting than expected. I would say this is a blond in taste, very surprising. A tasteful body, fresh and slightly piny.

M - A real bitter aftertaste that follows after the medium carbonation has died. I mis a creamy slight sticky touch, which I do tend to like in a beer.

O - I like this blond, or should I call this a failed IPA?? What does it matter, it tastes good.

Thanks for the bottle Phyl21ca

Hazy pale blonde colour, one finger of white head, lots of lace left behind. Smell is of bready/biscuity malt, massive hop profile, tropical fruit, yeasty, floral with notes of pineapple and grapefruit. Taste is quite fruity and bitter, malt is secondary here, grassy and earthy with notes of lemon, dry in the finish. Mouthfeel is dry, medium body, med-high carbonation, prickly carbonation, quite smooth. Really liked this one, good low abv brew, quite drinkable.

A: Slightly hazy golden. Pours with minimal head. Not exactly beautiful, but it works.

S: Hops, dandelion, cabbages, honey. Pleasant, all in all a characteristic profile and very very good.

T: Slightly too bitter for my taste, but still oh so refreshing and tasteful. Half lager, half IPA mix.

M: Clear in the mouth, no chemical-esque off-tastes or even the least hint of alcohol (not surprising when it is so weak). Would have nothing to complain about if the aftertaste wasn't so bitter!!!

O: Definitely an above average beer, just keep in mind that it is really fully loaded with taste and smell - not easy to drink by any means.

Have bought it several times and will buy again.

Picked this one up in Barcelona. 330ml bottle.

A - Pours a cloudy yellow body, similar to a Belgian witbier. Pretty nice fluffy white head and decent retention.

S - Smells similar to their Punk IPA: grapefruit, orange, maybe a bit of pine. Some sweet caramel hints as well.

T - Starts out with a nice citrusy hop bite. A good amount of bitterness, followed by a very mild sweetness and some caramel and bread notes. The finish is dry and bitter, with hints of pine, similar to that of an American pale ale. Pretty good for what it is.

M - Fairly light body to it. Not too carbonated and a little dry. Drinks very well. No hint of alcohol.

O - Overall, this is not a special beer yet still an interesting one. It's not super tasty or complex, but it manages to pack a surprisingly strong hop kick while still being low on alcohol. Well, if it's not an experiment, it isn't BrewDog!

330ml bottle 4,1% Abv.
BB 02/08/2012
Served cold in a Brewdog Teku glass.

Appearance: Good looking pale ale, deep golden body (a few small particles) topped by a good sized white head that lasts well and leaves some good lace.

Smell: Not the best nose around, one needs to strain to get anything. Biscuity malt, light grain, some fruit (tangerine and granadilla), lemon peel and some freshly cut grass.
Warming improves things quite a bit - just edging the grade up a level.

Taste: Quite a bit better than the smell. Initially sweet biscuity malt followed by some pleasant fruity notes (citrus, lemon peel and granadilla), rounded off with a very unexpected (but welcomed) bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Light body and slightly over carbonated.

Overall: A pleasant beer, a little low on flavour for me, but a good one for a hot day

Poured into a pint glass. A very slightly hazy straw colour with a persistent one finger fine off white head. Some foamy lacing.

Strong hop aroma. Tastes of fruity grapefruit hop up front. Mild malts with a slightly astringent hop finish.

Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and refreshing.

Appearance: Hazy, gold color. Fairly thin white head (1/2 inch) that doesn’t last too long but persists as a thin film and leaves some minor lacing.

Smell: Fruitiness it is! Hints of caramel in an otherwise grassy, hoppy beer.

Taste: Again the fruity, citrussy character is pronounced. Slightly sweetish (with a rough edge) at first but bitter at the end.

Mouthfeel: I usually don’t care much for label descriptions but the word “titillating” immediately came to mind once I had the first sip in my mouth. This is exactly the sensation I got at the front, middle part of my tongue. Otherwise, it’s light bodied (but the aromas kind of make you not notice) and not too fizzy.

Overall: Nice aromas, very drinkable, light enough to consume under various circumstances.

BB 0811 - drank 0611... :-( not fresh stock.

Pours a one finger head, cloudy straw colour. Head does not last - some lacing.

Nose is very subdued. A little pineapple maybe?

Initial taste is citrus based but quite dull, and the after taste is the usual hop-driven taste you would expect for an IPA not EPA. Hmmm... A little bit metallic as well, not so good. I would have expected a little more malt for an EPA. However, strong flavour for low ABV.

Carbonation is there, right on the tongue, dancing away, quite prickly.

Not one of Brewdog's better efforts, however, I can agree with James, it is palate-cleansing....

EDIT - next of six-pack was a gusher - not good

This beer has quite a neutral taste, clean and clear. It's one of the more quaff-able Brewdog beers as it has a forgiving after taste and it reminds me of a good home brewed number. That said it is distinctly average across the board, the clean and clear taste ultimately lacks complexity and at the cost price it should offer more than just a slightly clearer generic taste. It also has a metallic taste which is not as strong as some other beers in their range, but it may put off some drinkers. I would say it is clinical in it's taste.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet cereal notes is quite refreshing. Taste is not very complex with light semi-sweet cereal notes with a light dry finish. Body is slightly fuller then average with good carbonation. Refreshing and easily drinkable with limited complexity.

330ml poured from a brown bottle into a standard English pint pot.

A. A clear, sunny gold coloured beer topped by a finger thick white bubbly head.

S. Pungently hoppy. Hard to detect anything else apart from a slight sourness.

T. Quite a strong hop blast, some citrus notes and a dryish, long bitter finish.

M. Medium bodied.

D. Not a fan. Not enough complexity for my liking. Can Brewdog brew anything that doesn't smell and taste like their other beers?

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2011. Features a cool purple label with the usual Brewdog blurb.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A hazy pale gold colour with light carbonation and indications of live yeast. Produces a huge head of white foam with remarkable stability; this eventually reduces to a thin surface layer. Lovely aroma; light malt with floral hops and notes of citrus and yeast.

The taste is nicely balanced between malt and hoppy bitterness - a well judged flavour. Slightly sweet, with plenty of floral and citrus notes from the hops. Mouthfeel is pleasingly smooth and tingly with a mildly astringent finish. Aftertaste of aromatic hoppy notes.

A very nice beer, and easy to drink. I was worried that it might be too weak or lacking in flavour compared to their other brews, but it achieves an excellent balance. Light and refreshing - well worth trying if you come across it.

Serving type: 330ml bottle at about 7-9C poured into a tulip glass, probably better suited to a pint glass

Appearance: golden amber colour and reasonably clear with very minimal, but lacy head. Medium carbonation.

Smell: Top notes are pine, hops, peroxide; a citrusy core on a roasty malt base. Immediately, it reminds me of Gaultier classique, a great perfume for trashy blondes like me.

Taste and mouthfeel: Crispy, sparkly beginning with a strong citrus and fruit core and a long, long, long malty bitter finish. The sour, bitter aftertaste lingers a bit longer than I like, but the middle of it is very nice.

Drinkability: Average. I had been curious about this one for a while, and I had expected a much more aggressive brew from their description on the label. The smell is more exciting than the taste. Trashy blonde is nice, a bit quirky, but certainly not as ballsy as they sell it to be.

Looks good. Maybe a shade lighter than some EPA's. More of a dull straw yellow. Slightly hazy, great head and lacing

Some malt sweetness, mostly heavy pine like hoppiness.

Taste is similar...who wudda thunk it? lol Thin plae malts that are totally bushwhacked by this wave of grapefruit peel and pine resin. The resin clings to the back of the tongue like a barnicle.

Not as light as I thought it might be given the lower ABV. Has a certain slickness to it.

Worth a try. More like an American version to me. Pricey stuff though..

330ml bottle, consumed Feb 2011, BBE Dec 2011.

A - Pale straw body with a finger of light head that dissipates rapidly, leaving a good amount of head that clings to the glass.

S - Light, delicate aroma with a hop lead and some malt balance.

T - Light and bitter for the main part, pale malt lead with a nice hop balance and a lingering bitter finish.

M - Smooth with medium body and punchy carbonation.

D - Very drinkable, either on its own or for a session beer, especially with the 4.1% ABV.

Drank this beer out of the cask, in a Brewdog tumbler at Arrogant Pub, Scandiano.

This pale ale poured cloudy and dirty blonde. The head is extremely compact, a must when it comes to cask. Giant white gobs trailing down the side of my glass made for an impressive looking pint. The head remained at a finger and a half for the whole experience.

The smell is of apples, floral hops, and of course malty goodness.

Crackery malts give way to what seems like a moderate hop profile, but what seconds later comes in kicking. The bittering hops are sharp and devolve into a satisfyingly hoppy aftertaste. The mouthfeel is a bit slick, which might be due to the overall lack of suspended carbonation. Some call it flat and warm. I call it drinking a piece of history.

Drinkability is extremely high on this beer, due to its demure alcohol content and big taste. Then again, I'm in love with cask when it's done right!

I got this beer a few weeks ago from my buddy Zimbo. Thanks a lot Craig because this is a good brew.

Poured the beer in a Dutch beerglass the beer looks ok. The beer is somewhat cloudy but not much. Firm white head with light to medium carbonation.

Good smell with the fruity hops very well noticable. The hops also give the beer a slight bitter taste. The beer made me think of the pliny and that is a great comparison. Good beer!

Pours slightly hazy goldenrod with a rocky stiff white head that's solid after a vigorous pour, leaving big creamy sheets. Nose is sour toasty grain but plenty of citrus hops, too. Honey on granary toast malts with some mango pulp followed by grapefruit rind hops with some grassy bite. Clove finish and a long bitter (in a good way) linger. Light to medium, some chew, crisp.

English malts and American (OK, kiwi too) hops rings all the right bells for me. That's some assertive bitterness for only being 40 IBUs, making me wonder if that's Simcoe used early, especially since I catch the rest of the hop bill (Amarillo and Motueka) in the finish.

+.5 to drinkability for the very reasonable ABV.

For all their hype and experimentation, Brewdog seem to have their core bottle line (along with Punk, 77, and 5AM Saint) down cold. A winner.

A pale yellow with a slight haze & decent, average sized white head. Looks pretty good.

A kind of passion fruit smell. Fresh & generally rather pleasant.

Refreshing with a nice long bitter aftertaste. Hints of citrus & fruit.

Slight tingle of the carbonation. Pretty smooth & drinkable.

A very nice beer & goes down really well. No one taste is over powering & it is well balanced. One of the nicest beers I've tried in a while.

L: Pale yellow color with white head.

S: Strong hop characteristics.Great smell!!!

T: Strong bitterness and high carbonation overwhelm most of the malt notes. Hardly any hop aroma apart from the strong bitterness, although there seems to be some citrus character. I couldn't detect any particular malt flavours.

M: A little too much carbonation for me, but good finish.

D: Overall an OK beer although the flavour is a little to bitter for hence eliminating all the more subtle flavours. I still love the over-the-top attitude of Brewdog.
