Appearance: Poured from a bottle into an English style (real) pint glass, in low altitude Galway, Ireland. Three finger head retains well and moderately thick. A pale yellow-gold colour that looks a bit bland. Fairly clear: you can almost see through it. Not quite inviting, but not a turn-off.
Smell: A biscuity scent, not quite pine but with a reserved freshness. It's a clean scent, but I'm already concerned about the balance of flavor.
Taste: Bland notes of weak flavours, none of which dominate the beer, followed by a bitter finish akin to an IPA. It's a clean finish, and not to my tastes, but it suits the beer. I'm not left wanting another sip, but the wetness isn't necessarily refreshing. Overall it's built without much character; a bit boring.
Mouthfeel: Chewy but coarse, a body without too much weight but also without character. Too much carbonation.
I wouldn't buy it again, but fans of IPAs may enjoy what is has to offer if their expectations aren't too high.

Bottle: standard brown 355mL brown bottle, typically funky BrewDog label.
Appearance: pours a slightly hazy amber in colour with a reasonable off-white head that lasts. Decent lacing too.
Aroma: plenty of grapefruit and pine hops, tropical fruits and some bready malts.
Taste: the grapefruit and passionfruit from the aroma are definitely present, along with some pepper spice and grass.
Aftertaste: a good dose of hop bitterness comes through afterward with a touch of malt.
Mouth feel: a moderate mouth feel with a lower carbonation. Possibly could use a bit more bite.
Overall: a pretty decent pale ale per the BrewDog norm. A nice combination of hops and bread malts. The price of AU$78 a case of 24 x 330mL (2014) seems a bit steep, but maybe a 6-pack every now and then.
