From a 330 ml brown bottle, best before date listed as 28-10-11, with this being batch 314. Pours out a slightly hazed rustic gold hue, with a all creamy off-white head that slowly settles to a thin cap.

Grainy notes on the aroma, with some sweet bready malt and dry, spicy, earthy hops.

Flavour seems to have some loose ends, although what should be there is there, it just seems a bit astray. Dry grains up front followed by some sweet buttery bready malt (not diacytl though), with the spicy and herbal hops kicking in during the middle as well. Those hops carry things through the finish and into the aftertaste. Just doesn't seem to come together though, something seems a bit off....

Medium-bodied mouthfeel, velvety smooth texture, with moderate carbonation.

Just something about this German Pils puts me off, and I can't put my finger on it. It's okay for what it is, and I'd take it over domestic macro any day, however I can't see myself picking up more of this. Perhaps it didn't travel well. A pass for me in the mean time though.

Golden color with an aired thin head.
Light aroma of bread malt, some orange citrusy and herbal hops.
Flavor of sweet pale malt well balanced with herbal hops. Hints of lemon-orange peel citrusy, perfume and tea leaves. Dry aftertaste with an increasing grassy bitterness.
Light body bordering watery with low carbonation.
This was is past its prime, the one I had before was livelier. It could have a bolder body, and off-course with hops proportionally tuned up. Still, a very sessionable Lager, and not mono flavored as traditional pilsners.
