Served in a snifter glass. Vintage bottle date 02/03/2011 Poured 10/28/2014.

Appearance: Black and opaque, comes off very thin with a subtle head. Off white with a tan tint and rose initialy to maybe 1/3" at best with a very hard pour.

Smell: Bland scent but you feel a grapefruit feel. Honestly weakest property of the beer but don't be afraid.

Taste: Light malts with a light citrus feel. Good but still simple. Still bitter with a light range of IBUs which comes off pretty obvious. Was expecting more especially considering nine out of ten DIPAs improve with age.

Mouth: Comes off a bit flat, might mke you think of an irish stout not sure of this os because of the brewery or because of the age of the beer.

Overall: Smooth black DIPA that satisfies most palates. Very rare and if you are lucky enough to find a bottle I would say grab it. Has room for improvement but rarely you find a smooth brew as this one that still delivers a punch.

A brown/black pour with a finger of tan head which quickly dissipated. Smells of roasted coffee, charred barrel, chocolate. Flavor is on point with aroma.. Lots of charred oak, roasted grains, dark chocolate with a subtle sweetness of rich milk chocolate. Medium in body with hardly any carbonation.
At $6 a bottle, it was hard o pass up on it seeing as that's relatively cheap for brewdog one offs, and stone has let me down seldomly. It was worth the gamble. A nice tasty dark beer.

Bottled on 12/12/10
Enjoyed on 3/20/14
A - jet black, poured like a Culver's root beer, lots of carbonation bubbles, big head that settled quickly to a small tan ring.
S - smell those funky Belgium hops, licorice, molasses
T - rye, chocolate. hops seem to have faded a bit, some hints of a stout variety, I get a little alcohol burn at the end.
M - carbonated, goes down easy, I get a good whiff of funk on the nose while drinking.
O - very nice style. I purchased this off the clearance shelf recently and am glad I did. I would like to try this a little fresher to compare.

Pours an impressive jet black. Smells like bread, citrus, a little sour. Tastes a little watery and sour, hints of toast. My girlfriend says it reminds her of soy sauce, which I agree with just a little bit. Like a cross between a weak IPA and a stout but not very impressive either way.

Hunahpu Day pour #12. Pours dark brown with big kahki head. Smells floral with a bit of citrus, hints of roast perhaps, and a little sour. Flavor is heavy scotch and dark fruits, comes in hotter than expected and not much depth in flavor. A bit boozy though only medium on the palate. Not my favorite. Blegh.
