Pours a reddish brown color with a finger of solid white head. Lots of lacing left on the glass.
Scent is more hoppy than malty, but both are quite faint. Slightly spicy hop aroma with slightly earthy malt background.
While the nose might have been more hoppy, the opposite is true for the taste. Earthy malt flavor comes through with a subtle side of pine. Some hop bitterness at the end. Bitterness lingers along with a slightly nutty flavor.
Aftertaste seems odd to me and the whole thing seems off-style (which should be expected from the name). Overall, it is an enjoyable beverage. Not quite my mug of beer for long term drinking though.
