Testing this beer well chilled, poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

A: When poured into the glass i thin foamy head is created. The beer has a clear amberish color.

S: The smell got load of hoppy, almost sweet nectar-like tones giving you that great feel that there are lots of hops in here!

T: Just as hinted from the smell, the taste is loaded with hops giving you that very bitter tones that turns into almost sweet nectar-like tones.

M: The gentle carbonation of this beer that left after pouring it into the glass gives you a smooth juicy feel.

O: Just as expected this is a strong double IPA that is loaded with hops. The gentle carbonation gives the beer an almost nectar like feel.

Thanks to baggio for the awesome international trade and this DIPA i've been wanting to try. Opened with my cousin and jlindros at a nice tasting October 8th. 9-1-11 bottle release, so it was consumed within 5 weeks.

A - orange with a small 1 finger head. Pretty flat looking carbonation. Retention and lacing isn't very good at all for the style, but it's a beautiful color.

S - cloudberries? I don't know what they smell like but it certainly smells like a fruit i'm not used to. Fairly hoppy with plenty of other tropical flavors and tangerine-like citrus. A lot of syrupy, sugary malts in the aroma.

T - quite odd...to say the least. I'm sure I am tasting cloudberries but they're quite off with the overall character of the beer. The beer itself is well-balanced, but the complexity breaks down rather quickly. As it warms it becomes cloyingly sweet and overly syrupy, to the point of being undrinkable.

M - syrupy mouthfeel, flavors stick to the tongue rather well. Could use some more carbonation definitely. Medium bodied. Normally on a DIPA I love when the flavors stay with you, but sadly I wasn't fond of this and liked the initial taste much better.

O - I was pretty upset with this beer. I centered a trade around this beer for the tick and cloudberry experience and while the trade was awesome, the beer wasn't. We wound up pouring the rest of the beer down the drain. It could have been finished - it's not like it was putrid, just that we had so many beers to work through and this wasn't worth the extra alcohol. Can't say i'd recommend this to anyone wanting to try a cloudberry beer.

Appearance Enters my oversized wine glass, filling it with a clear yet light copper colored beverage. Foam crown is a finger tall and khaki.

Smell Floral and malty, hysterically hoppy, slightly inebriant and tangerine.

Taste Bitter at first and eventually coming to a gentle and sweet ending. There’s a certain maltiness to it giving it a roundish character. Flavors include orange, pink grapefruit, pine, fresh apples and of course berries, I wouldn’t say it’s neccesarily cloudberries but the tartness of berries present. Product specs reveal Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Bramling X hops. Nice choice!

Mouthfeel Astringently acidic, moderately carbed but the liquid is escaping me somehow, could be fuller.

Dark copper, off-white head.

Tropical, passion fruit aroma. Malty, sweet caramel. Some type of faint berry smell (strawberry/blueberry combo).

Berry and tropical fruit flavor. Reminds me of tropical fruit Skittles or pink Starburst. Excessive malty sweetness with a moderately bitter finish. Not as big as I'd expect for a DIPA. It was a couple months old but this didn't pack the punch I was hoping for, especially after reading such a mouth watering description.

Tried once before, wasn't sure then, this time around something's different.

Pour is a deep amber. Two finger head. Settles into a nice cloud. Holds all the way. Looks nice.

Smells great. A lot like Loose Cannon or better, Nugget Nectar. Very malty. Citrus, pine. Rich malt backbone. Can't wait

Taste is same as smell. Very similar to Nugget. Makes you pucker! Like this one, surprised. Very malty, sweetness counteracts the bitterness

Mouthfeel is thick, syrupy. Sticks to your taste buds. Again, like the two before mentioned brews.

Like this one after the second time around. Don't know what's different. After the first sip, it was obvious. This is s once off brew, and I wish I could find a few more because it was very tasty. A good alternative to Nugget . Great job BrewDog

Bottle obtained in a trade with some friendly Swedish guys I met during SF Beer Week. Batch #303

A-Pours clear amber with 1/4 inch of foamy light tan head. Minimal soapy lacing.

S-The tropical fruitiness of the Nelson Sauvin hops come through stronger than anything else. Hops smell faded in general. I think this might be a bit old, though the bottle has a best by date of 07/08/12. A musty vegetal aroma behind the fruitiness of the hops.

T/M-Again, heavy on the tropical fruit hoppiness. Medium bodied with a crisp finish that is marked with a lingering under-note of thin malty sweetness. That musty vegetal flavor presents itself right up front, but soon gets lost in palate drying bitterness and tropical fruit sweetness mid-palate.

O-Weird beer. Not really sure what to make of it. One of the better BrewDog IPAs I've had.

The beer is clouded amber with an orange core, the head is off-white, with hints of yellow. Some lacing and good curtains.

The smell is sweet, tropical fruits, mango, apricot and some citric aromas, red grape-fruit, sweet oranges, some floral notes at the end, pine resin.

The taste is initially sweet, toffee, lots of fruits, peaches, mango . Then somewhat spicy, pine resin, and grass and hay.

Little carbonation, small soft bubbles, soft and creamy texture, a rather light dry finish.

In comparison to the cask sampled a few weeks ago I found this a bit more hoppy and actually a better experience.

Enjoyed at a sampling lead by the creator Darren Packman himself.

Thanks to dfclav for this one. Had at the Stouts and Spiders tasting thanks to Mike.

Pours a very light fizzy head, clear amber nectar orange color.

Nose has fruits and hops, fresh citrus, light tropical fruit, touch of grapefruit and an apricot like fruits aroma, light musty grape skin like, definitely Nelson Sauvin hops. Not sure what cloudberries are but I think they add that weird musty berry aroma.

Taste is weird! Starts with a touch of malt, then hops, light citrus and lemon, touch of lupulin resin flowery flavor, the a bit of fruit with topical fruit, grapefruit, and grape, then weird bitter berry musty earthy tannic flavor like the berry seed or skin. It starts to get astringent as well. It also gets pretty sweet, syrupy sweet and not really balanced at all. A syrupy but dry finish, bitter as well on the finish with a bit of the fruity lingering hops.

Mouth is med bodied, decent carb., syrupy.

Overall meh, kinda weird, a bit astringent, weird tannic berry seed or skin, although the hops start to get nice with the fruits but never quite there.

Who the hell is naming these beers? And who the hell is Ingrid?

A - Orangish beer that was a little hazy. Decent white head that faded to a partial cap and ring. No real lace.

S - Orange and citrus mostly with some tropical fruit, and malt backbone.

T - Sweet caramel, lots of citrus and fruity hops. Some pine and resin on the end.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O - Not a bad beer, and better than I was expecting given the style and the brewery that made it.

330 ML poured into a tulip

Thanks to Baggio for the beer. Much appreciated

A-- Poured a clear, amber gold color. One finger dirty white head. Left a little bit of lacing as it died down. Nice head retention and body to it.

S-- Pineapple, berries and a good amount of Carmel. Smells like a pavlova or a berry tart. Different to say the least.

T-- Tartness right off the bat. Lots of lemon and lime sherbet quality to this with pineapple.

M-- Get a lot of lemon tartness in the finish. Like a lemon head candy. Really different. Pineapple, passion fruit and Carmel in the front. Quite oily and slick. Spot on carbonation and body for a DIPA. A little too much carmel but not faulting that too much.

O-- Different profile for a DIPA. I like. The finishing lemon tartness from the cloudberries is quite cool. A little harsh here and there but not always in sync but this is a cool and different DIPA. Not so sure about the name though.

Copper amber color and clear. The slow pour from the bartender produced a small head, but it does last and leave some significant lace considering.

Overwhelming grapefruit aroma from the obviously ample hop. There is no way to smell anything else. I don't know whether to assail or congratulate this.

Thick and oily, one can tell this is a strong IPA. The alcohol is notable in a way that should exceed the relatively modest 8.2% abv. The flavor starts with rich lightly toasted malts. The (grapefruit flavored) hop takes over and lasts long after the swallow.

The pour is a hazed amber color with a white head. Very fruit forward on the nose. Lots of citrus, tropical fruits, and berries. As expected, quite a bit of sweet malt aroma, mostly caramel and brown sugar. The flavor is very sweet, some of which is from the caramel and brown sugar of the malt. The remainder is in the form of sweet hop notes such as citrus and tropical fruit. The cloudberries are also still fairly well pronounced.

The smell is aggressively bitter and hoppy with a distinct almost sharp sour-fruity flavour that makes me think of kiwi, lime, bitter oranges and a touch of cloudberries. Some sweetness and alcohol in the background.

The colour is deep amber with a tint of gold-orange (27 EBC). The liquid is almost clear. The finger thick head is warm off-white and very compact. It sinks very slowly leaving some lacing.

The flavour is hoppy and bitter with warming alcohol, too. Sweet jam-like notes, some cloudberries, raspberries, oranges and lime. Grand bitterness and full bodied. The aftertaste is fruity and hoppy with dry bread-like malt. Cloudberry jam in the finish.

The carbonation is medium strong with small bubbles. The liquid is smooth and a bit thick.

An very elegant DIPA with a fruity twist that really works.
