Formerly Dead Pony Club

This Californian Pale Ale packs a huge hoppy punch. A 21st century low amplitude, high voltage hop hit. Some people say slow is good. We believe fast is better. Being shot from a Hoppy Howitzer beats the hell out of trotting round a submissive paddock. That's why the internal combustion engine got mounted onto two wheels. Screw down the throttle and listen for that dull banshee howl floating back from those malted mufflers. Drink fast, live fast, sleep late and rip it up down empty streets. This pale ale is chopped, tuned and ready to roll. Fuel up and hold tight, this little thoroughbred kicks like a mule. Perfect for drinking by the bottle, case or even keg.

Good amber colour, quite thin head bur firm and a good thickness, also foamy.
It won't fade away after a few sips.

The nose is really marvelous! A true smell of fresh pineapples are there, very fruity with a linger of sweet spices and tropical fruits. I really want quickly a taste of this great BrewDog beer.

Nice, delicate, smooth and a touch of bitterness of the good roasty hops. Not so fruity as the smell. It gives a quite long aftertaste of still that smoothiness.

Very good beer and very drinkable, good cold, and a perfect alcohol of 3,8%. (551 characters)

A 330ml bottle with a BB of July 2013. Picked up from a supermarket a little while back. Described as a Californian pale ale; no idea how they picked the moniker for this one.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A light orange-amber hue with medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a persistant surface layer. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with hoppy overtones; notes of grapefruit, orange rind, mango, pine, citrus and hints of tropical fruit. Smells lovely.

Tastes of caramel malt with a hoppy character and a clean bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, orange, citrus, pine, mango, tropical fruit and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, though the malt seems a bit underpowered. A crisp, strident bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, but rather thin and watery. Quite astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops and subtle malt.

Pretty good and certainly tasty. Smells great; lots of juicy hop notes mingling together in delicious harmony. The flavour seems a tad unbalanced in favour of hops - the malt could benefit from being beefed up. The body is also lacklustre; too thin and insubstantial. However, it's a solid effort for a relatively low ABV brew and it still has good drinkability. I could see this becoming a regular drinking beer if the price/availability were right. Worth sampling if you come across it. (1,416 characters)

On tap at the Dundee BrewDog pub.
Clear copper colored body with a good head.
Aroma: pungent but pleasing mix of fruity and resinous hopst.
The hops are also quite pronounced in tasting, but this has mild bitterness,
Near medium body with medium carbonation.
O: wow, this is a great session APA for hop heads! It has a load of hop aroma and flavor; you'll think you are drinking an IPA. Very impressive: a big beer at 3.8%. (429 characters)

Unbelievable powerful hoppy punch from a 3.8 % be. Labelled as Dead Pony Pale Ale no mention of Club. Is this is different version? (132 characters)

Obvious riff on a hopped-to-high-hell American pale ale, gotta say the nose is spot on though, resplendent with fresh citrus, body is a little thin, not surprising given the ABV, but somehow the decently buzzy carbonation makes it all work. It's a bit of a niche beer -- you'd have to be in the mood for something as brash as this. But, if so, I think it'd work rather well. (374 characters)
