Served chilled in a wine glass.

Reviewed from notes taken in November.
Appearance: Dana pours a slightly cloudy bright golden-orange, with a rough pour yielding a large off-white head. The head lasts well and leaves some good looking rings of lacing.
Smell: The nose here is actually a little better than the Waimea and the El Dorado that I had a few days ago, but it still suffers from freshness issues. There is some citrus, a little garlic, a touch of sweeter tropical fruits and some underlying sweeter malts.
Taste: The flavor offers more bitterness than I had expected which is a very pleasant surprise, however the flavor is still somewhat faded. Notes include: Citrus pith, orange, a light herbal/leafy note and some sweet malt.
Mouthfeel: As with the other beers in the series, the mouthfeel here is actually pretty good. Medium bodied with a nice oily texture and a medium-high level of carbonation.
Overall: I nice drinkable beer, but still lacking on flavor.

330ml bottle. Nice to see a single hop series from this hop-crazy UK brewery. Kind of weird though, how this arrives to we in western Canada via a Swedish importer, bottle translations and all.
This beer pours a hazy, dark muddled burnt orange hue, with two hefty fingers of somewhat puffy, but mostly caked dirty white head, which leaves some nice drooping spectral lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.
It smells of a muddled pine resin and orange/grapefruit pith hop bitterness, softly bready caramel malt, and a further floral, musty forest floor detritus organic essence. The taste is really not all that IPA-like, with a sort of up-front mash of lawn-clippings and fresh autumn leaves, and a sour-ish bready caramel malt. More like a bland experimental pale ale, really.
The bubbles are fairly restrained and not really that noticeable after a wee spell, the body on the lee side of medium weight, and smooth, kind of, as the musty pithiness from the hops bleeds through in a wan party crashing manner. It finishes off-dry, I guess, but still replete with that bland, chalky, musty 'hoppiness'.
Well, as an experiment this particular offering has succeeded - it's shown me what the heretofore unknown Dana hop can do. On the flip side, in the actual beer sense, this has also shown me that this hop has no business being near an IPA - on its own, especially, and likely not recommended to play with others, as well.

A - fully hazy dark mustard golden, thumb of white head retained at a half finger with decent lacing
S - hints of lemon lime citrus, raw pale grains, touch of leafs and a slightly sour aroma
T - funky sour citrus, grainy, musty, a minerally thing going on, its definitely different
M - medium body, gets slightly thin and sour, dry mustiness on the finish
O - its not a bad brew but its definitely a different kind of IPA, not really my jam but I can appreciate the intent of the single hop idea

Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows herbal hops, spicy notes, caramel and great cookie dough-like malt notes.
Similar flavours, more herbal, earthy and spicy hops along with more of the cookie dough malt. Some booze shows.
Could use more carbonation.

Quite malty and very dull hop flavor
Lots of complex flavors that last linger in your mouth but none that were too appealing.
If mixed with a fruity hop could be very interesting.
It's a bit stupid that reviews need to be of a certain length....

330 ml. bottle, dirty hazy golden colour, with a normal head that leaves a small lace. Smell of citrus, coriander, tropical fruits. Harsh on the palate, sticky, taste of citrus, caramel, tropical fruits and some spices. Not too different to Eldorado or Dana. Good.

The colour is gold-red (25 EBC), the liquid got some chill haze. The beige compact head sinks down rather quickly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is strong, almost acrid with powerful bitter flavours, orange peels, sour white grapes, butterscotch, butter essence, and earthy mouldering notes. Hints of alcohol and solvents.
The taste is sharp with exotic fruits, wax crayons, dried flowers and minerals. The bitterness is strong and fading. Medium to full body. Earthy and fruity notes in the aftertaste. Oranges, grapefruits, pineapples. Strong raw alcohol flavours and some solvents. The finish is harsh with detergents and dried exotic fruits.
The carbonation is strong with lots of small sharp bubbles, the liquid is mid-smooth.
Technically, this beer lacks off-flavours, but the hops are all over the place with sharp raw notes. It might gain of some cellaring which is odd for an IAP.

Pale amber with clingy off white forth.
Herbal, crushed leaf nose that recalls lemon balm and a bit of mint - bright, fresh, unique.
Toasted hazelnuts and sour caramel then earthy, tobacco leaf, and barky hops.
Orange cocoa hard candy finish (?!) and tart linger.
Crisp, light-med, a bit oily.
Smells better than it tastes. Some vegetal and lemon notes over the usual Noble (this is a Hallertau Magnum descedent) notes. BrewDog site says musty spice, I could see that.
Interesting, even if I don't need to taste this hop again.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 14/8/13
A murky pale orange with some tiny particles being pushed around by a few bubbles that only pump out a short lived thick film that leaves random lace where it existed
S floral, earthy, and tropical hops mix well together, lots of citrus and some bubblegum seems out of place but it works, a little caramel and bread with just a hint of spruce
T a little toned down compared to the nose with more rind the fresh flesh I was smelling, sweet malts and a little booze, nothing mind blowing but decent
M medium bodied and seems flat at first then some bubbles pop up, a little slick, with just a little heat, rind lingers
O OK beer but doesn't hit all the spots, smell was promising but ended up as the highlight
This IPA is Dead mixed pack isn't quite living up to its price tag, strange hops I've never heard of and I've yet to be impressed.
