330ml bottle from Peckhams, Glasgow (£2.15):
Hazy, golden amber with a thumb sized and bubbly white head that holds steady.

Light, grassy hops with some citrus kick things off and are coupled with some biscuit malts and a touch of corn. There is some sweetness but overall the beer is quite light on the nose.

Corn & light hop taste with some grassy flavours and a light, biscuit malt base to begin. There is some sweetness and a faint hint of caramel on the taste buds. The background is a very slightly fruity one.

Crisp & clean with medium to lively carbonation and a light body. There is also a light bitter finish.

An easy beer to drink and a refreshing one but overall the beer seems quite average and doesn't really do much to stand out from the crowd. This one seems to be more aimed at the masses than pushing boundaries.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of June 2014. Acquired a little while back from the Brewdog webshop. Totally Fake.

Poured into a stemmed pilsner glass. A bright golden hue with faint haze and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding. Aroma of light malt, husky grain, faint noble hops and stewed leaves. A twinge of DMS. Not too impressive.

Tastes of light malt with a dry finish. Notes of subtle grain, stewed hops, mild overdone veg and very faint noble hops. A touch of solvent in the background, followed by a delicate bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh stewed hops and faint malt.

Meh. Was expecting a bit more character from Brewdog - they've played this rather straight. Looks pretty good, however the aroma and flavour are underwhelming and coloured by mild off-notes. Body is OK. A shade better than most macro lagers, but doesn't hold a candle to 77 lager. Oh well - no need to hunt this one down.

Bought from the excellent Beer Shop in St Albans, Herts, UK.

Lovely golden light amber appearance with good lacing and retention
Smells delicious with strong butterscotch notes. Slight boozy aroma with hints of grain and barley malt. Really smells like a bohemian pilsner that's made with ingredients picked form the fields of Czechoslovakia (as was) only days ago!

Taste is bang on for the style but more flavourful than a Budvar or Zlaty Bazant. Has all their good qualities but just a bit more so. Perfect balance of malt sweetness and subtle noble hop bitterness. A really delicious bohemian pilsner taste. Its really like a fully fresh, lovingly handmade version of the classic mass produced Czech pilsners.

Mouthfeel is fine. Not too thin and does have a bit of a gloopy syrupy feel. Satisfying in a word.

This is a wonderful Czech style pils and fits with my mental image of what a freshly pulled lager in Cold War Prague may have tasted like. Don't judge it next to IPAs or stouts as it has a totally different flavour profile. Subtlety and balance are the watchwords here and this has both but manages to be plenty flavourful too. Just wonderful.

My mark out of one hundred would be 87.

Pours a nice and completely clear golden color and is topped with a small white head.
There is a hoppy aroma which is very subtle and nice, and you can also detect some citrusy aroma as well.
The taste is pleasantly bitter, without any metalic feel, and there's also a minimum amount of sweetness present.
A very nice, drinkable and tasty lager.

330 ml. bottle. Pours a bright golden colour, qieth a two fingers head that leaves a good lace and ring. Smell of hops, herbs, grain and some citrus. Medium to full body, fizzy carbonation. Taste of grains, herbs and citrus. To me, a really great lager that does not pale in comparison to Urquell or Budvar.

Tried on-tap at BrewDog Camden in Camden Town, London. This beer started out as an April Fool's joke, but was brewed as a way to "reclaim" the wonderful European lagers that have been filtered beyond recognition.

Pours a very clear golden colour, very light in the body with coarse-bubbled, riddling carbonation. Head is a foamy white that collapses and settles out to very little. Lace forms in bits and pieces. Looks okay.

Clean characters to the aroma. Grainy with Saaz coming through giving grassy green notes. It doesn't have a great deal of complexity though, and it certainly has very little oomph behind it.

Clean entry on the front-palate, but from there it's downhill. Grainy, weak sweetness gives off honey characters without much balance. Slight crispness on the back tries to provoke some balance, but there's nothing doing. Weird coffee bitterness wraps it up. Feel is extremely light and crisp, but it doesn't have much to work with.

I started out feeling as though BrewDog has pranked themselves: they set out to prove what a good euro-lager could be, and ended up just proving how generic a beer they could brew. But in actual fact I fear they've just ended up pranking me—I paid BrewDog prices for something not significantly better than Carlsberg. Well played.
