Our third beer, Tallgrass IPA, is an India Pale Ale that is rich, complex, and flavorful. We are proud to be the first brewery here in the Great Plains to have the first brewed, cans, and draft IPA out on the market!
Tallgrass IPA originally came to life as a creation during Jeff’s early homebrewing days (batch Numero Uno), and it was consumed in short order by his friends who came over to cook out and help with the next batch. After some modifications over the years (because nobody’s rookie homebrew batch tastes all that great, but your friends will tell you it does) the recipe was dialed in to become what is now Tallgrass IPA. We love this beer and think you will too!

Purchased in Philly, no freshness date, poured into my Portsmouth tulip.
Pours a dark orange hue, hazy with a decent 1-2 finger head. Sticks to the side of the glass with decent lacing.
Not much going on in the aroma, muted citrus, light toasted malts, some caramel. A hint of grassy hop. I presume that this can has some age on it.
The taste follows the nose, very heavy on the malt. Toasted grains, fresh bread, yeasty character.
Medium body, creamy mouthfeel and a good level of carbonation.
Overall, I was very unimpressed with this beer. Having cracked it open after a Heady Topper, its review may have been doomed from the start but I didn't get enough hop to satisfy my taste buds. Too malty and unbalanced.

Murky dark orange color; HUGE white head.
A forest of lace.
Orange smell & maltiness mingle together. Not overly fragrant.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Malt breadiness overpowers the citrus hops here, but this is a decent enough beer. Truly sessionable, easy to quaff.

Light brown pour, darker than average, lots of carbonation rushing out of the can. Aroma was earthy, almost English like yeast, malt and hop presence. Just didn't bring the noise in terms of an American ipa.
Malt forward taste, not quite normal stuff for an ipa, comes off like a scotch/wee/English burton/ipa vibe.

Not hop forward enough for an IPA.
