Poured into a tulip. Pours a nice mahogany color, slightly hazy with an extremely thick off white heading. Nice lacing.
Big nose here. Heavy, sweet caramel malt, with a big piney and grassy following.
Extremely rich in taste. The carmalized malts just ooze with sweetness and flavor. Big doughy second wave kicks in with a slightly toasted following. Last the bittering and piney hops are there as a nice bridge for all of the sweet goodness going on.
Mouth is full bodied, thick and sappy. Decent carbonation as it warms but never makes the palate tingle.
A very thick and sappy IIPA with a nice hop kick. The ABV is low but the flavor is big. A nice surprise from Tallgrass.

Wow!! This one was a very pleasant surprise, after having Ethos, my expectations were that this one would be inferior, but in my opinion, that was NOT the case. One thing, I prefer piney IPAs vs grapefruity ones, which makes me biast in favor of this one.
As mentioned above, this has a piney hops flavor to this one, a lot like Sierra Nevada's Torpedo, which I adore. I'm not experienced with the ESB part, so I can't say much there, but overall, this beer absolutely hits the spot, and I will be a regular customer year round.
