Notes/Commercial Description:
We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Pours a midnight black body with a puffy khaki colored head that slowly fades. Aromas of dark sugar and black malts. Slightly moderate carbonation with a lightly silky mouthfeel. Flavor is somewhat weak given the appearance, aroma and name of the beer! A very accessible stout.

A - Pours deep brown/black with two fingers of tan head. Head has decent persistance and leaves quite a bit of lacing.

S - Sweet and bittersweet chocolate, and a nice coffee presence that doesn't dominate. Also some faint roasted malts.

T - Taste follows the smell pretty closely. There is also a nuttiness in the taste that I didn't pick up in the smell. Nice but not very memorable.

M - Too thin for my liking, but there is still a decent creaminess.

O - This is a pretty good milk stout that doesn't stand out in any particular way. The thinness detracts from the flavor profile.

16oz can. Pours dark brown with a small off white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is roasted malts and grains with some sweet chocolate and some ash.

The flavor is sweet grainy roasted malts with a little lactic chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little watery.

Overall, not a great stout.

16oz pounder with no freshness date.

LOOK: Pitch black, dense tan head.

SMELL: Fresh cappuccino, fresh baked biscuits, cocoa powder, soft charcoal, dried plums.

TASTE: Super smooth, creamy, mellow roasted grain, carob, mild molasses, breakfast blend coffee, semi-sweet burnt finish.

Love this beer, much preferred from the can ... a real treat to drink. Quaffable for sure but it begs to be paired with some chocolate ... the obvious choice.

16 oz can, with "Drink by" dating of 06-05-13 ( I'm a few months late apparently on this one)

Pours very dark brown, fluffy and lasting dark tan head that leaves a nice looking ring of low sheeting and scatteredt bits of lace.

I get a bunch of milk chocolate on the nose.

More milk chocolate, with some light coffee notes as well.

On the thin side, but that adds to drinkability of this flavorful and nicely crafted stout. Bring on some grilled meat and/or chocolate desserts.

Tasty and worth a try.

Last of the beers I brought home from Kansas...

Appearance: dark brown in color with 1 inch head, clear, moderate-high carbonation

Smell: big oats and coffee

Taste: oats, black coffee, and dark chocolate

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy body, moderate carbonation, sweet with slight roasty bitterness

Drinkability: A solid, clean, oatmeal/sweet stout. The sweetness comes through but is never overly seet. Glad I picked up a four pack. I could have several of these.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a white head. The aroma is coffee, toffee and chocolate. A very nice smelling stout.

The flavor is coffee, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. This beer is a malt bomb and all of the various malt flavors work very well together.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Serving glass: Poured from can into Nonic Imperial Pint.

Appearance: Ruby black with thin tan head and spotty lacing.

Smell: Sweet molasses, roasted malt and milk chocolate. Smells decadent and rich, especially at first.

Taste: Nice semi-sweet mix of chocolate, molasses, roasted malt and licorice. Minimal bitterness - while the smooth, rounded malts are appreciated, a little hop balance or extra roasted bite could have helped.

Feel: Low carbonation, smooth body that is fairly light. Too thin.

Drinkability: A solid, malty and drinkable Sweet Stout. Good session beer overall, even if there is no "wow" factor. Probably would be better with a slightly bigger body and a touch more bitterness.

Black in color with a head that was minimal and rapidly faded entirely. Delectable aroma of oatmeal, chocolate, and dark malt. There is plenty of oatmeal, chocolate, and dark malt in the flavor but the oatmeal clearly dominates. The mouth is a bit oily and thick.

big thanks again goes out to mizzouguy! recieved in the noob bif round 6.

16oz can at fridge temp poured into a pint glass. "12 013" stamped on the bottom?

pours out almost black, actually a dark ruby brown color. a thick 1/4 inch creamy layer of light tan colored head, pretty good retention. leaves a little lace.

a very nice burnt, roasted grain aroma. a touch of charred wood. some coffee and cocoa comes out the more it warms.

again, the nice burnt, roasted grain character, a bit of estery fruits, bits of coffee and cocoa, more cocoa in the finish. also some raisony dark fruits noticable, just enough hops to balance.

super smooth, soft, and creamy, rolls over the tongue nicely, then a nice little bite of carbonation. medium bodied.

overall, a pretty simple beer, but done very well and very nice to drink. sessionable. the reminds me more of an american stout, rather than a milk/ sweet stout, still a very good stout whatever you want to call it.

Poured from 16 oz. can into a New Belgium Globe glass.

Appearance: Pours a dark oily black with only a little hint of a brownish color. Lots of bubbles. About two fingers of creamy beige head which slowly fade to a thin layer. Moderate amount of lacing.

Smell: Deep roasted malts with big hints of chocolate, milk, caramel, toffee, and sugar. Also some hints of vanilla, cream, nuts, and coffee. Subtle hints of earthy hops in the background. Aroma is very malt and chocolate forward with lots of roasty qualities.

Taste: Very roasty and malty like the aroma. Dark roasted malts with big hints of chocolate, coffee, milk, cream, caramel, toffee, nuts, vanilla, and sugar. The coffee comes out pretty strong in the taste. Light hints of hops towards the finishes. There is a good amount of sweet sugar here, but the roast gives a nice balancing bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Very creamy, slick, and smooth. Fairly dry considering the sugar.

Overall: A pretty solid take on a sweet stout. Sweet, but well balanced by the roasted coffee flavors.
