This beer reminds me more of a hoppy cream ale, like Sixpoint Sweet Action, than a pale ale. The malts are smoother and mlider, the hops are spicy but don't kick in until the bitter finish. Until this reallt warms up, the subtle peach and melon notes are hidden behind a pretty standard citrus front. It's a great summer beer, an upgrade from a blonde ale, but it can't stand up to Sierra Nevada.

Pours slightly hazed golden orange with a thin, lasting head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is of citrus, melon, flowers (a hint of honey?).

The taste is citric (orange) with some metallic floral notes.

It is on the lighter side of medium-bodied. Some bitterness lingers.

A pleasant pale ale, overall.

Sweet melon aroma on the nose. The body has a medium lingering bitterness and finishes dry.

A slightly above average beer, but too mild for my taste.

Been wanting to try for a while and managed to pick up a howler. Quite impressed actually: citrus and floral on the nose and a super smooth drinker. Possibly spoiled because can the tall boy version be as good?!?

Not very good. From a can at High Noon Saloon for beer talk.

It's got a decent amount of flavor, it's just not very pleasing flavor. A bitterness that doesn't commend itself. A bit of lemon juice emerges.

Wait. It's getting better with each sip. (Orig. score: 3.45) I guess it's just really subtle. Takes a while to get your mind around its layers.

An okay ale with a slightly funky aftertaste. Not sure I'd drink again.

Gave the "look" a 5 because its an amazing label! The beer is a solid pale ale.

Look: Light transparent amber with a pure white pillowy head that clings to the glass as it dissipates
Smell: Floral tones, pine sap
Taste: much like the nose, balanced with light bready malts. Well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Coats the mouth with a dry finish.

Overall: nice brew, well balanced but kind of boring after a few sips.

Pretty good IPA. Not too pungent. Kind of mild for the style. Clean aftertaste.

Very delicious. Not a ton of citrus/fruit up front but it hits you with the hops for sure. Great beer.

Good but, interesting. A lot of flavor up front. Going down, watery and not very much there. I still like this beer, might be too watery for most pale ale fans. Not great, but definitely not bad. Give it a try if you can. Cheers!

I found a nice APA in what can often be a beer desert (Kansas). Great looking can.

This beer had a very crisp taste. I was honestly shocked I didn't anticipate a good beer. I did not take this beer seriously because of the can and print. But it is a quality beer.

Great Pale Ale, one of my favorites. I will be grabbing one of these or two more of these during the summer time. Very refreshing and goes down well for a smooth Pale Ale. This and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale's are my favorites. Wish they came in a 6 pack though, since they are so enjoyable.

Hey, I love this beer and I drink it from a glass. Very simple description: big assertive hop attack, mellows out quickly and has an authentic maltiness that's really yummy. It's got some nice malts, giving it a orange color and great flavor. There's room for a little more complexity to this beer, maybe more nose, but is it needed? This would be my everyday drinker if I could buy it out here in NE.

Bright, punchy hops meet a slightly caramel and sweet back end. This is a truly well rounded beer and stays nicely within a sessionable range at 5.2%. Very drinkable.

Great can design but what was inside just wasn't what i was looking for. Way to malty in my opinion.

S: Citrus, floral, yeast and grass. T: Sweet maltiness, grass, light citrus, bready. F: Light carbonation, med/light body, light pine bight on the tongue and light pine aftertaste.

From a tallboy (drink by 12/30) into an imperial pint.
A: some sediment, nice deep orange/amber color, puffy 2 finger head that leaves a lot of lacing
S: vegetal hoppiness, caramel/crystal malts, a little citrus as well. not a huge nose.
T: a big step up from the nose. The malt base is solid here, some biscuit and some caramel, and that sets up some fairly juicy grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, as well as some dry floral spicy notes, too. Bitterness is fairly sharp for style.
M: creamy and smooth considering the bitterness; medium carbonation; drinks pretty heavy for some reason.
Overall: a good one. Fairly aggressive for a pale ale, but that's not uncommon anymore.

I recently attended a Craft Beer Expo where I met several wonderful people. Some of which who are now following my reviews. I was the weird guy, carrying around a shoulder pack and whipping out what looked like a manual which was in fact several home-made graphs and charts of my likes, dislikes, and notes on the beers I was trying. So without further ado, I will start with 8 bit pale.

Serving Style : 6 oz tester glass at craft show

Appearance (4) : 95% opaque, hazy orange glow. Since the cup was only 6 oz, I'm going to throw my "head retention" data out the window.

Aroma (3.75) : Orange zest, grapefruit, leafy and woody notes. Bouquet was medium to strong.

Taste (4) : Easy drinking, sessionable. Grapefruit rind, wood/bark, lots of hop and barley. The profile bordered more on the hoppy side than the malty side.

Mouthfeel (3.5) : Light to medium bodied, semi-dry, light, and wet. Semi-dry finish.

Overall (3.94) : I marked it down that I wouldn't buy it personally. But I would try it again. "A less offensive pale, good for sessions."

So there you have it.
