Appearance: Pours with a light head. Good lacing on the sides of the glass at each level. Average to above average carbonation active in the glass while drinking. Some brunt orange accents with a pretty golden colored brew.

Smell: This aroma is filled with bubble gum, straw, molasses, and cane sugar. The sugary sweetness jumps out right away on the nose. A caramelized sugary tone really dominates in a very delicious way. A solid yeast backbone keeps the aroma balanced.

Taste: The gummy sugary tones hit the palate right away. Bright hops continue to ride through the body of the beer. The straw and grassy tones kick in on the body as well which balanced out this APA after the front. A caramel and molasses finish really round out an outstanding APA.

Mouthfeel: Sweet hops with bright malt texture.

Overall: I loved this great example of a very bright and hoppy APA. I could drink this all day. I have never seen this side of galaxy hops before, much less palate attacking and drying then I remember previously. Well done with this one Tallgrass.

Had this on 2013-08-22 in Columbia, PA

A - Mildly hazy, golden orange with a 1-finger white head and mild lacing.

S - Mild pineapple, peach, malt, tea. Fairly tame but pleasant.

T - Tart orange marmalade on fresh bread with a bit of caramel, tea and pine. The balancing bitterness comes on pretty quickly and hangs around in the aftertaste; as does some of the sweetness from the malt. Well-balanced.

M - Medium body, light-medium carbonation and some resins deliver a substantial feel that I quite enjoyed.

O - Satisfying. Enjoyable. Not mind-bending but very well done considering the ABV. Would have it again for sure.

Big off white head settles into a big nice lacing above a cloudy straw golden colored beer.

A light citrusy yeasty aroma.

Lightly bitter within the citrus, light pine taste that still has a hint of the yeast tagging alone.

A light dry aftertaste with some light bitterness and a bit of the citrus of the taste hanging around with this medium bodied pale ale.

Easy drinking pale ale with a bit of citrus, a good introduction to hoppy style of beers.
