Enjoyed on tap from Barley's Brewhaus in a standard pint glass.
Appearance - Crystal amber-orange color with a rocky white head of about a finger and a half. Outstanding sticky lacing coats the side of the glass as I drink it down.
Smell - Dominated by grapefruit and piney aromas, with some hints of herbal bitterness to follow as well as some floral characteristics. Very aromatic.
Taste - Again, the grapefruit element is the star, but it's not overpoweringly bitter. After the initial punch of the grapefruit, there is a faint underlying base of malty sweetness.
Mouthfeel - On the light side of medium bodied, with some silkiness and a dry finish.
Overall, a fantastic new offering from Tallgrass and perhaps my new favorite out of their catalog. Usually I'm not one to enjoy IPAs on hot summer days, but this one has some refreshing promise to it. Throw in the fact that it's a can and it's perfect for the pool or the lake.

Another sample from my Independence Day get together with out of state friends. From the can on July 4, 2014..
It is a very heady golden amber pour. The white head takes its time to settle down.
A slight sweet and grainy aroma mixes with an earthy and grassy hop note.
Smooth, medium body.
Again with the grainy malts. Those are the first things I get in the taste but it won't take long before it evolves into a full but not floral, hop bitterness. Enjoyable.
