Orangish, yellow ale, mostly transparent with some visible bubbles. Mountainous, towering head retreats slowly leaving a permanent blanket over the brew. Large, sticky lace patches.

Fresh flowers, lemon rind, pine needles, grapefruit and soap aroma. Pretty complex hop character.

Dense rye bread malt character right up front. Pungent grapefruit and pine hops compliment the rye. Buttered biscuits. Finishes with a dry resin character. Very good balance.

Medium body, well carbonated, dry, crisp, refreshing finish.

Solid IPA. Doesn't really taste like 110 IBU's thanks to the well balanced malt character.

Before anything else- If you're a hophead and you have a chance to try this beer...DO IT!

Serving-From a can into a glass tumbler 'cause that's all the hotel had to offer

Appearance- Hazy orange with tints of deep gold at the center. A finger of white head.

Nose- Fruit punch. Grapefruit all the way. Some sort of other Dark Citrus.

Taste- This IPA is just awesome. The mouthfeel is perfect for this style. I first got grapefruit right off the bat. It's big. It's that sour-bitter citrus you want with an IPA. This is about as bitter and fruity as you want them to come. There is some pineapple essence in there as well as some papaya perhaps or other sort of tropical fruit. Surprisingly, with all those tropical notes she still finishes up solid with a great aftertaste- zesty pine. This is really weird to say but I actually got a taste of bubblegum in there somewhere, too. Seriously, this IPA has many good levels of flavor.

Overall- I don't claim to have tried all the "great" IPA's on the market. I have, however, devoted most of my Craft Beer journey to IPA's as that's my primary "go to." After trying this one I gotta say- top three by far. I'm partial to a local IPA which stands up against any of the great ones and I have another IPA that is ranked pretty darned high. But this one I think any true IPA lover will enjoy. It's so darned easy to drink, surprisingly for the high IBU's. Not for a recent convert from that yellow fizzy beer culture. Rather, for the die-hard hop-head or someone who wants to wake their tastebuds. Awesome!

Poured into a nonic pint glass

Appearance has a hazy golden orange with a large three finger head.

The nose is surprisingly bready and yeasty for an IPA, with some undertones of citrus, mostly orange and mild lemon. Between the smell and carbonation it almost reminded me of a Belgian.

The taste, however, is bold and sweet with citrus, especially candied orange and some grapefuit bitterness, which gives way to an assertive pine bitterness that lingers and coats the mouth. The bitterness is big and builds, but manages to avoid overwhelming the other flavors. As I continue to drink and it warms, I pick up some pineapple and herbal, maybe slightly grassy, qualities. Quite a lot of carbonation, but it worked well with the intense flavors.

It is a big IPA, but is actually quite balanced in its way. The flavors are all intense, yet they check each other. I do not like overly bitter IPAs, and at 110 IBU I thought I wouldn't like this one. However, they balanced the bitterness and malt very well. Will definetly buy again, and look forward to trying more of their stuff.

I poured a can into a pint glass.

Appearance- Hazy golden orange color with a finger and a half of off-white head. Heavy amount of lacing.

Smell- Pine and grapefruit hop aromas with a hint of bicuity malt.

Taste- Bitter piney hop flavor that quickly fades into a tropical fruit/ grapefruit hop flavor.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with an average amount of carbonation. Sticky feeling and crisp with a dry finish.

Overall- This the first IPA that I have totally enjoyed. I really like the grapefruit-like hop flavors over the more typically used pine-like hops.
