I have been to the Warren House on a couple of occasions the first being the better of the two. The atmosphere of the place is one of the best features of the establishment. The inside is dark, covered with aged wood and a fireplace in one side then a pool table next to a bar which you can sit at on another section. It has a deck in the front of the old house which has seating of 4 picnic tables and a cool beer garden area in the back. If you sit in the front you have an awesome view out to the ocean.
The quality of the beer is okay and the food is pretty good based on what you order. I had a parmesan crusted halibut sandwich which was delicious minus the huge bun they had it on. They have a good side salad with the order as well. As far as the beer I have had the 2 x 4, Raspberry Ale and the signature beer Duckdive Pale Ale which won gold at the 2004 Great American Beer Festival.
The service of the place is probably what will take this place down over time if the owner doesn't step in and make some changes with gals he has hired. More than one gal seemed annoyed that a customer showed up to make them do something. There is nothing worse as a consumer to go to a joint to get a pint and good meal only to have it ruined by someone that would rather be somewhere else. Maybe it is hard to get good help at the coast?
Next time in Cannon Beach I need to hit Bill's Tavern & Brewhouse which is the parent to this establishment to see the problem is systematic or just the staff.
