On tap at the Meridian Pint, Washington, DC:

The beer appeared a lighter amber with a nice thick white head that was well retained. It gave off a lighter aroma than expected, bready with perhaps a slight fruity aroma thrown in as well. The beer had a really nice malty taste, as expected from the style, well balanced, again. The beer was dead on for feel of an English Mild, not too light, but did not feel heavy either. Overall, this is a solid session beer.

Served on-tap in a Shaker pint glass at Blue Mountain Brewery (Afton, VA).

A: Clear honey-gold with 1/2-inch of off-white head with good retention and some scrappy blobs of lacing.

S: Malty aroma with bready and light caramel notes and a nice herbal hops note. There are some interesting fruity yeast and bread aromas, but they could be more plentiful.

T: A solid flavor profile, very easy drinking here, but I wish it has a little more distinct malt presence. The malt character is bready with a pleasant low-medium crystal malt note and some additional stone fruit components, somewhat more yeast based in character than from malt. The hopping and bitterness are on target with a nice floral and herbal note. No alcohol presence. This beer delivers what you expect, but it doesn't have a lot of distinctive qualities.

M: They nailed the proper feel for a British session ale with a mellow, low carbonation, fairly dry overall impression, with slightly less than medium body. There is no wateriness -- it is just an easy-drinking ale.

O: I liked this beer but didn't go for another. It seems like some more experimentation with additional malts would be a good idea to given this beer a little more lively flavor and aroma profile. That being, said, this a solid British-style pale session ale.
