12-oz can to tulip. "Had" rating of 4 earlier (on tap).

A: dark orange, copper body. the light tan head's huge w/ large, soapy bubbles. the head settles down quickly though, leaving minimal patchy lacing.

S: toast, orange, berry, a vigorous swirl really unleashes herbs and pine needles

T: very sweet, then very bitter.

M: dry finish. moderate carbonation.

can shared with tb69, enjoyed chilled in atulip purchased at Brass Rail.

The color is deep amber with mild haze and thick cream cap with fine bead and confetti lace. The smell is fruity and floral with a nice mild citrus with an orange scent. The feel is moderately carbonated with mild sweetness and moderate bitterness yet is somewhat dry as it finishes.

The taste is very citrus in the hop profile with an element of sweet malt flavor balancing. The taste has a mild hop astringency but the flavor of slight pine and light toasted tinge toward the finish with very low alcohol in the taste. This is a very good pale, well worth having again, I would recommend this

Had lunch today at the brewpub. $4.00 was the going rate for a pint. Reviewed from notes.

Beer was served golden orange with a decent head.

Nose is herbal and slightly toasty.

Taste is toasted grains that are overwhelmed by a resinous citrus hop.

Mouthfeel was medium bodied with light carbonation that was refreshing.

Overall this drank more like an ipa than the apa style. Not that it is a bad thing but i was looking more for a bready balanced brew of an apa. Definitely worthwhile if you like a smaller ipa.

12oz. can served in my Harpoon IPA glass. Best by 10/2013 labelled on the bottom of the can. Pours a dull, coppery orange hue with a semi-hazy clarity and a fluffy, one inch, bright white head. Head eventually disperses into a soapy slick that coalesces around the edges. Thick swaths of lacing are evidence during the tasting. Nose is malty (some caramel notes), with some floral aromas, citrus and a trace of something metallic towards the back. Taste has a nice malt/hops balance. Metallic character in the nose is no longer present; however, there's a nice floral/piney bitterness overlaid on a toasted malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium-light with a lively carbonation that leaves a residual burn at the back of the throat between quaffs. All and all, a pretty decent APA. I tend to prefer a little less of a malt presence, but a pretty quaffable beer for the most part.

Another example of American Craft Beer going over the top with the hops. I'm looking for a little more balance, nuance and subtlety. I am sure that some very fine malts and yeast are underneath all those hops but it's a shame that they can't be tasted. I hope that the current fascination with over hopped bees will wain.
IPA is BS! Put the craft back in craft brewing! Save the hops and boycott IPA.
